  • Great

I love using it as a mini wok! Love this pan.

  • Exactly what I was looking for. Fantastic design and build quality
Color: Cerise
I was looking for a Balti type dish to cook south Asian food. I was surprised that Le Creuset made one. Excellent build quality, great heat retention and distribution. Chicken curry comes out great. I also use it to fry too. Highly recommended!

  • Excellent for what it was designed for and more.
Color: Cerise
I purchased this piece six months ago and I love it. I use it to make soups, stews, curries, gravies, stir fries, sloppy Joe’s, etc. It is also good for heating up leftovers. I haven’t had any problem with it. I don’t think it was fair of one of the reviewers to give it a one star rating because their tangine top didn’t fit it nor did any of their lids fit it. It wasn’t designed for a lid nor was it designed as a tagine. It was designed for curries and similar items that aren’t traditionally covered while cooking. It is a speciality piece, not a universal pan. Personally, I would have preferred it to have a lid, but that has not diminished my opinion. I love that I can cook a curry or a stew and serve it in the same pot. And, it looks cute on the table. In my opinion, it was an excellent purchase. I now have both sizes. You do have to be careful that you don’t burn yourself on the handles. They do get hot. ... show more

  • Quality Design and Manufacture; Exemplary Performance
Color: Marine
I already have a substantial collection of Le Creuset enameled cast iron cookware. I have used the brand for years with great satisfaction in terms of performance, appearance and transferability from stovetop/oven to table top for service. The cast iron in these items retains sufficient heat to carry through in a buffet setting. The enamel interior enables me to use acidic ingredients like wine and lemon juice without picking up extra iron flavors. The sculptural design of the 'Balti' pan caught my eye and stayed in my memory. After two months on my 'Wish List' I made the purchase. I have been very pleased with this as an open casserole...and it could work very well for stir fry--except that I own a cast iron Wok. I do wish they had designed a suitably styled lid for this combination of pot and pan. ... show more

  • All-in-one!
Color: Cerise
I've only had it a week, but the 3 QT Balti is awesome. I haven't touched another pot or pan since I got it- it can do everything! I was able to boil water to cook a whole 12oz box of pasta in it, but also seared large salmon burgers as though it was a skillet. Downside is you can only do one grilled cheese at a time (base not wide enough for two) but you can fry 4 eggs just fine, it's perfect for one large pancake at a time, and yields enough curry to serve 4 adults. When something sticks after cooking, I just fill it with water, put it to boil, and it comes off of the enamel to clean very easily. Also it's very pretty so you can cook and serve in one dish! Note that it gets hot and should be handled with good pot holders. ... show more

  • I love using the balti
Color: Flame
I love using the balti! The size is just right for my family of five when we stir fry vegetables and meat. I have also fried eggs, French toast and omelette in it. It would have been perfect with a lid but that is not the fault of the balti as it was made for a certain style of cooking. However, I bought a 22 cm vision lid and made do with that. I like the fact that the le creuset black enamel becomes almost non stick with time and use. I find that it forms a non stick surface when I use a little butter, the eggs just slide off. Washing is easy, just soak in hot water and whatever is stuck comes off. ... show more

  • Got you covered with a lid that works
Color: Marine
I just received this beautiful pot and haven't even cooked in it yet. I love the shape and color. It's smaller and quite a bit lighter than my dutch oven, so I plan to use it for curries and side dishes. I found a solution to its not having a lid! It's a silicon lid that is shown in my photo. The 11" dahlia version from a well-known brand just fits. To see how well it would work, I boiled water in it. It does leave some gaps around the handles, but it should be fine as long as a 100% seal isn't needed. Will test it out on real food later this week. ... show more
