  • WONDERFUL PRODUCT - highly recommended
Style: Scented Color: Gray
TL;DR: Serious pain relief with zero harsh chemicals. Aroma therapy is stress relieving and smells heavenly. Doesn't slip off. Have recommended to friends & family. GENUINE, CARING, WHOLESOME, MOM-RAN, SMALL BUSINESS. I love the fact that I know my money is supporting food on the table for kiddos, activity fees, and field trips rather than some big corporation. PLEASE CONTINUE READING - this product is TOTALLY worth my long-winded review. I'm a medical student studying for boards, so a large portion of my time is spent hunched over my iPad/computer studying. On top of that I played competitive softball as a pitcher for ten years, and my right shoulder has all of the scar tissue to prove it. Needless to say my shoulders ACHE on a regular basis, sometimes to the point I have to stop studying. I was skeptical that a product like this would help; I've tried microwave bean bags, IcyHot, Biofreeze, etc. with little relief. I wish I had found this product years ago because it remarkably improves my symptoms. You just pop it in the microwave for like 2.5 minutes and place it on your shoulders. It has a little strap to ensure it doesn't fall off, but honestly even if it didn't have the strap it doesn't feel like it would fall off. As a fairly anxious person, I appreciate the strap because I feel like I can actually move around without fearing it will fall off. It's weighted which also helps it stay in place, as well as providing that comforting, relaxing pressure on my tense shoulders. It's filled with something that smells like a soothing cup of tea. Normally scents give me headaches, but this doesn't! The aroma is so natural and docile. At first I thought this was weird: after your microwave it, it almost feels moist. I was skeptical about this at first, but I honestly think it's the sole reason that this product relieves my aches far better than any other product I've tried. It feels like the heat actually penetrates my skin into my muscles. It provides the perfect amount of moisture; I never feel like it's too much to the point I would need to change shirts after using or anything. As a wonderful bonus, this company is so wholesome - the lady that own's Joy & Grace is a mom of three who started this small business. I love the fact that I know my money is supporting food on the table for kiddos, activity fees, and field trips rather than some big corporation. ... show more

  • This is an absolute lifesaver if you work on a computer/keyboard/mouse for hours on end!
Style: Scented Color: Gray
I work at my desk, keyboarding and mousing for many hours most days. I almost always had a painful knot in what I call my 'mousing/typing muscle' -- the part of the upper shoulder that cramps up, radiating into your neck, arm, back, until you want to jump up and Honest-to-Pete, YEET your keyboard with heartfelt passion into the trash, but you're too sore to do so... if you're looking for one of these, you probably know all too well what I mean. The longer you keep at your desk work, the more you really begin to know firsthand how many muscles, tendons, and other stuff are in your upper torso, and not in a good way. So that's why the smaller microwaveable neck warmers never really cut it for me, as much as they provide relief for small areas. After I got back to doing a lot of desk work several months ago, I was immediately reminded of this issue, so I spent some time searching for a neck and shoulder warmer that would cover all the parts that hurt. I also didn't want an electric heat wrap and have to deal with cords, etc. So after carefully reading through the reviews on the ones that were available, I chose this, picking out the gray one. (I like the blue, but it doesn't coordinate w most of my wardrobe. Super important while sitting at my desk in leggings and t-shirt, but still! This goes with everything. Just a matter of taste.) I carefully warmed it in my nukulator (microwave) for only 3 minutes - although I was tempted to go for longer. One or two reviews had noted that if you microwave it too long, it can melt portions of the fabric and ruin it. So I have been very cautious with this. Three minutes seems perfectly safe. I squish it into sort of a ball and put it directly on the microwave plate, and it comes out warm enough. If I am really hurting and want it a little warmer, I take it out, shake it around a bit to more evenly distribute the beads inside, and warm it a little more for maybe 30-45 seconds while watching closely. Usually 3 minutes does the trick just fine. I can get up from my desk, plop the thing in the nuke, hit the button, go back and work for 3 minutes, and just get it back out, repeating all day as needed. Since it's a large wrap, with a lot of beads inside, it does need periodic gentle shaking around to keep the beads evenly distributed. Not difficult at all, and expected. The moment I put this on, the relief is incredible. And after a lot of use, it really does seem that keeping those muscles warm all day greatly decreases or omits the muscle spasms that can occur with long hours of desk work. I used to have increasingly bad soreness and muscle spasms during the course of the week, but not since I got this and use it regularly. Obviously, it doesn't reach your lower back, but it definitely does reach all the crucial upper body areas that get the most sore from desk work. I can't recommend this highly enough! It arrived nicely packaged, with good instructions, and I could see that it was very well made. It really works. I found that the scent was mild to begin with and lessened with some use, but that's my preference anyway. It holds heat for a good amount of time and covers a very impressive area, hitting all the points that get the sorest. I absolutely love this wrap and wholeheartedly recommend it! ... show more

  • Works for me!
Style: Scented Color: Gray
I had shoulder surgery and needed a quality heating pad. This heating pad is made extremely well so I know it will last a long time. I heat it for 3 min. 15 sec. and that is about perfect. The heat lasts about 15 mins. I know other reviewers have said that the heat didn't last long enough but even at PT, they only leave my heating pad on for 10-15 mins. That is long enough for me. I like the weight because it pushes the beads down just enough to really feel that heat. I don't use the fastener because It would make this pad too loose but the weight seems to keep it on. The only downside is that the beads get displaced. They tend to travel down. I want heat on my entire shoulder and the beads seem to shift to the end of my shoulder. Since the stitching that separates each compartment is only half way up, I can wiggle the beads from one compartment to the other and really stuff the sections I use. Problem solved. ... show more
