  • It works!
It’s a great pitching machine and gets the job done! Just make sure you don’t turn it off when a ball is still in it like my son did! We got it out, but it took some muscle!

  • Good for the money
I bought this for my 15 yr old and 10 yr old sons. Is is good with the slider balls and okay with hard balls. The only reason it’s a 4 star is the stand is crap. The machine moves back and forth and when it throws a hard ball it moves all over. I will make something better but all in all it’s a good buy. ... show more

  • Complete garbage
I’ve never written a review before, but this product frustrated me so much I’m inspired to write one now. The machine does, in fact, throw balls, but with such inaccuracy and lack of consistency as to be worthless. I did all the things—set the tripod on pavers and weighted the feet with sandbags, and it is still less accurate than the 9 year olds on my kid’s Little League team (and if you’ve watched 9 y/o rec ball, you know that’s saying something). Take your money and buy a quality tee and a bucket of balls. Pay somebody local for a few good hitting lessons and have your kid work on consistency and form off the tee. You’ll get far more value out of your dollar that way. ... show more

  • Great for the Money, do not Trust the reviews
I have read several reviews that this machine shakes violently and even one review where the lady said it hit her kid in the head. To the reviews of shakes violently. People need to have a simple comprehension of how things are put together and read instructions. It says clearly to tighten all bolts and put the front of the pitching machine towards the longest third tripod leg, this will stop it from "shaking violently". As for the lady that said it hit her kid in the head, here's a pro tip. Don't be sucking down Busch lights and put the thing two feet away from your kid and aim it directly at his head. It's a great machine for the money, yes it does chew up real baseballs which isn't a big deal to me. Long story short, if you can add 2 plus 2 and love your child. You can put this machine together properly and it won't hit your kid in the head. ... show more

  • Do NOT use real baseballs!!!
Given the price in comparison to competitors, my expectations were not very high. I bought this machine due to its advertised ability to use regular baseballs as well as the machine's plastic balls. While the machine is usable, I was less than impressed with its capabilities. It takes a while for the machine to warm up. The first two or three pitches are short and inaccurate. After that you can get a reasonably good pitch. It's still a bit variable, similar to a real pitcher, so don't expect every ball to be in the center of the strike zone. I used the lite balls, in addition to real baseballs, to allow for pitching at higher speeds. The light balls can be compared to whiffle balls. The slightest breeze will catch them an you'll end up with a pitch that flies behind the batters back. Because of that, you'll only want to use the lite balls inside or on days with no breeze. Unfortunately, this machine can not handle baseballs as advertised. After a single pitch, the brand new Rawlings seamless baseball specifically designed for pitching machines had two large cuts in the leather. After just three more pitches that ball was destroyed. That makes it cheaper to just run down to the local batting cages and pay to play. Because real balls get destroyed, using this for any sort of fielding practice is out of the question. I would suggest using the slightly cheaper version of this machine that is not rated for real baseballs if you opt to buy a Heater Sports pitching machine. Since you won't want to be using real balls, save your self the money. ... show more

  • Building hitting skills for my grandson.
My 7yr old grandson loves it. Nice to have the machine pitch to him now and be able to control speed and direction of the pitches instead of relying on my "grandpa arm" that gets tired and throws wildly... 👍👍👍

  • So-so quality. Motor shaft broke after just over a year.
I had this pitching machine for a little over a year with intermittent use. While using it I heard a loud bang. Turned out the shaft on the motor broke. Support team was easy to deal with but had to pay $40 for a new motor. Just felt like this should have lasted longer before breaking down.

  • Great machine for young players
Easy to set up, but we got the latest version, and the instructions are not updated. If you get one with a silicon wheel you can skip the wheel alignment steps. Called the 800 number and got a human on the 3rd ring. Excellent support. If we move on to a fancier machine in the future, we'll be looking here. ... show more
