Description

This Hawkins Aluminum Bigboy Pressure Cooker has a large 22 Litres capacity. It has easy to open and close lid. Inside-fitting lid is pressure locked while in operation, patented pressure regulator prevents clogging of steam vent, direction, controlled fingertip steam release, shielded safety valve. It has goof-proof lid feature that seals from the inside like a jetliner door, ensuring greater safety. It is made from commercially pure, virgin aluminum. Mirror polished; interior and base matt finish. Inside-fitting lid is pressure locked while in operation, patented pressure regulator prevents clogging of steam vent, direction, controlled fingertip steam release, shielded safety valve. Easy to Open and Close lid. 22 Litres capacity (23.25 Quart). New 'whistling' pressure regulator. Shielded Safety valve. Gasket lasts longer. Mirror polished; interior and base matt finish. Inside fitting lid opens only when pressure falls. Stay cool handles. Base Flat Diameter: 245 mm (9.65 inch). Body Maximum Diameter: 475 mm (18.70 inch). Base Thickness: 4.88 mm (0.19 inch). This pressure cooker was used only once following instructions. Today when I tried to use it for the second time, I noticed that the lid has a huge crack about 4 1/2 inches long. Built like a tank, functions consistently and without problems for several months now and many many uses. The lid is actually elliptical and fits UNDERNEATH the upper lip of the pot, eliminates any chance that the lid will blow off upon release. Product does not work as advertised and manufacturer is unresponsive. Pressure cap does not work properly and always leaks. After purging the air out and installing the weight cap, the cap constantly has a slight hissing leak. When it gets up to pressure the weight 'pops' and dumps a ton of steam. If I'm around when it pops I can tap it back down after a couple seconds and it will stay down. If I'm not around it will vent for a long time (dumping most pressure). Since the manufacturer was not responsive and not honoring my guarantee, I installed a .5" bulkhead fitting and a 30 PSI pressure gauge on the lid to see what's actually happening. The 15 PSI red weight actually pops off at only 10 PSI, and doesn't fall back down until 5 PSI. Completely unacceptable and no word from multiple manufacturer email addresses. ... show more
