  • True "MADE IN THE USA" Quality--And It's Just Like The GraniteWare From Yesteryear! I Love It!
As my headline says--This covered roaster is MADE IN THE USA, Terra Haute, Indiana, to be exact! Obviously, GraniteWare has kept its promise to deliver quality products, because when I opened the box, I found an extremely sturdy, heavier-weight roaster, made as it always has been made, of porcelain, with a steel core. The dimensions are 19 inches X 13 1/2inches X 8 1/2 inches (with the lid on) and it has a 20-pound capacity. Measuring from rim-to-rim (excluding the handles), it is over 17 1/2 inches and it's 16 inches internally at the longest part of the oval. Although there was nothing wrong with my 30-year-old speckled Granite Ware roaster, I donated it when I moved. I regretted that, because these roasters seem to cook faster and more evenly than even the highly expensive brands. It is not meant to use on a glass cooktop stove, but it is safe to use with all other heat sources. I like the fact that it is dishwasher safe, metal tool safe and free of any harmful chemicals. Unless I take a dirt nap, and through the natural order of things I have to part with this one, I plan on holding on to it forever! ... show more

  • Old-time quality
Purchased this roaster to replace my old one from 1990. It is the same size as my old one. I was very happy that they still make this large size! The enamel spots are a bit different and the overall weight is a bit less ( than my old one), but this roaster baked meat very well. I cooked 8 lbs of beef roast and a 22 lb turkey (at different times). Both turned out tender, but not dry. Also, the lid closed completely over the top of the 22 lb. turkey. The lid sat correctly on roaster- both with the raw turkey and when it was baked (because some shrinkage occurs). I also like to "bake" my stews in it. The veggies don't get mushy. Lastly, dimensions given in the description are accurate! ... show more

  • Works well but came dented
I got this item just days before the event I needed to use it for, so I kept it, even though it came with a little dent in the rim. It’s not a huge dent but it does make the lid a little unstable. Still works well and cleans easily.

  • Not just a turkey roaster.
I love this roaster and I haven't roasted one bird. So far my favorite thing to do is put the bottom pan on two burners on top of the stove, medium heat. Throw in a liberal amount of olive oil and cut up kielbasa in. Brown kielbasa. Then throw in a large load of veggies and spices (especially 1 packet of onion soup mix). Cover and put into a 400F degree oven for about and hour and a half (more or less depending on veggies). Anything that's stuck to the bottom of the pan is easily taken off by pouring a couple cups of water or stock in, returning the empty bottom pan to the stove top and making a jus (that's French for a thin sauce-like juice). Gorgeous and delicious. A great way to get more veggies in your diet. Also great for the winter because it fills your home with awesome smelling food and almost free heat. I also always use non-stick friendly utensils; as in wood, silicone, etc. Never metal. So far this roaster seems to be a quality product. 5 out of 5. Would highly recommend! Don't be turned off by the low price. ... show more

  • Poor quality and/or bad packaging
I ordered one, it arrived in a cardboard box with a piece of paper in between the top and bottom. It was chipped in so many places with pieces of enamel all over inside the box. I returned it for a replacement and it arrived the same exact way. They need to package wrapped up so it isn’t damaged in the box OR…. It’s not the best quality. I’ll buy one in a nearby store ... show more

Have been looking for one of these roasting pans for years and finally found one on Amazon which makes me happy. I first cooked Turkey for Thanksgiving fifty years ago and from use it wore out well it’s now 2025 and I’m content in knowing I can once again roast like I did years ago!
