Ive tried multiple GDY dyes, review for each below: Biz (neon orange): Good Dye Young Biz (neon orange color) is SUPER vibrant! I wanted a fast low commitment dye to match the local soccer club colors. This was a perfect neon orange that stayed vibrant for about 4 days then faded to copper and peach colors for a few more days and was mostly gone after a week of sun, 7 or 9 washes, and one cannonball in the chlorinated swimming pool. I didnt do a great job documenting the dye colors in pics but I snagged some still shots of me skateboarding throughout the week so you can get an idea of how the color lasts and fades. Super happy to have fun low commitment dye so I just ordered a tube of blue Dyeposit and will review that too. Started with natural sun bleached hair. Applyed Biz for one hour. Smelled fantastic. Conditioned my hair. Easy to apply and rinse (wear gloves, use an old towel on your shoulders, rinse in a utility tub or sink). Low commitment and fun color, faintest lingering copper tones when wet after 14 days. 5 oz tube is WAY MORE than enough to dye my mowhawk for like...years? Dream Big (navy blue) mixed with Blue Ruin (blue): I get lots of compliments from passing strangers on this one! I line a reusable bowl with wax paper or cellaphane and mix Dream Big and Blue Ruin in a 2:1, or 3:1 ratio (more Dream Big, less Blue Ruin, just eyeball it). Stir with gloved fingers and apply to half my mowhawk. Results in a nice deep royal blue on my lightest hairs and an earthy blue-green where my hair is darker/brown. Again, smells nice and conditions my hair, left on about 45 minutes and lasted over 2 weeks of daily washes but the royal blue areas begin to fade and join the blue-green hues before then. IMPORTANT LESSON LEARNED THE HARD WAY: IF doing streaks, strands, or half your mowhawk like me YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY shampoo several times after the cold water rinse, otherwise the blue dye transfers to any blonde hair that touches it over the next few hours, it left the blonde half of my mowhawk with a green tint when I didnt shampoo immediately, get that excess color out! Be prepared to bleach your suddenly blue utility tub after rinsing, wear gloves, and be sure to coat your forehead and hairline in a thick layer of hand lotion or petroleum jelly before dying otherwise you WILL dye a dark blue ring around your scalp! Dyeposit Blue: Nice vibrant blue-green/turquiose color (wish it wasnt so green) lasted 1 day/1wash after a 1 hour application and cold rinse. By day 2, after 1 wash, it fades quickly to a dusty, silvery, blue. The dusty silver blue color lingers a LONG time, like 2 weeks! Parts of my hair still turn a dull blue-green when wet but its no longer visible when dry. The intense color was gone within 48 hours but the faded tones really stuck through a tropical beach vacation of sun, salt water, chlorinated pool water, sweat, and daily washes. I wasnt sure it would ever fade completely. It was easy to apply, left my hair soft and conditioned, and didnt stain my utility sink where I rinsed my hair. Wear gloves! Stained my gloves blue! Not best as a standalone dye. I find I am hesitant to reapply because it requires so much maintenance to keep bold color and lingers as a faded tone so very long. Love the color! No harsh smell. Very little dye washed out of hair during the rinse. Buy more than you think you need. We had to buy extra to coat my daughter’s hair but it was more than worth it. It looks amazing!

    • Works but fades FAST
The first two days, it was awesome. I LOVED the way it looked. But with it being red, it faded out sooooo fast and soon looked pink. Was gone within a week and left hair dry and brittle. I was planning on cutting my hair anyway before I did it, so I didn't really mind, but something to keep in mind.

DEFINITELY CURLY HAIR SAFE I originally had red from a previous color and used the GDY Bleach kit for a bleach bath and to bleach my roots. The pink definitely covered the remaining color. The next picture is my hair wet after washing the color out. Second picture is a few days later (yes i did straighten just my bangs, dont judge). Last picture is a week past coloring and I had a blowout from the salon; hair was washed with olaplex, i think this caused the roots to fade some (you cant really tell in this picture). But it’s either the olaplex or the heat that is causing the color to disappear? I wouldn’t say fade since it hasn’t bled on my pillow or clothes. The formula is thicker than I’m used to ; definitely buy multiple boxes if you’re curly or thick headed. I used two boxes just for my one side ... show more

The color is definitely not the one stated! it's pink! bright pink! I was expecting a shade of red, rich orange, but nothing pink ((even after an hour the pink shade did not darken one shade.
