  • OMG what a great product!
Style: Orange/Blue
I ordered this SUP for my wife as an anniversary present. We had tried our hand at paddle boarding a few years back, and had talked about getting one but had never pulled the trigger on ordering until now. I looked at a bunch of different SUP configurations and finally decided on this one. I am glad I did! Once it arrived, we unpacked it and laid it out in the living room. My first impression was "WOW... this thing seems really well built and has a TON of included accessories". Score! We decided to go ahead and inflate it to make sure it was what we wanted, even though we were not going to get it into the water for a few weeks. The process of getting the board properly inflated is pretty straight-forward and the included pump worked well. It seems that many reviewers felt that their pump gauge was "broken", but in reality, that is not the case. The gauge will not start to read anything until the board is about 60-70% inflated. This is a design feature, not a flaw (this is mentioned in the manual). It took about 200-225 stokes for this to occur. Those strokes were very easy, and didn't require much effort. Once the board started to stiffen, the resistance ramped up and it got increasingly more difficult. By the time I hit about 350 stokes the board was at the recommended 12 PSI and was ROCK hard! If you have ever inflated a pool toy you will be amazed at the rigidity of this board. I am a 200 lb adult and the last strokes were pretty hard but not too difficult, just take your time and lean into it. My wife was able to make those last few strokes, so I am confident she could use it without me if she wanted. The surface is covered in a rubberized pebbled texture reminiscent of a basketball, and there are numerous D rings for attaching the included seat (used in a kayak configuration), the ankle/leash strap, optional anchors etc. There is a bungee style crisscross in the front that can hold extra gear as well. Two sturdy carry straps complete the surface attachment points. Also included were 4 paddle pieces that could be configured with a handle on one end for paddle boarding, or a second blade for when in the kayak configuration. Again, some reviews mentioned that they couldn't get the paddle to stay assembled, but once again, when reading the manual, there are instructions for how to adjust the tension on the latch to correct this problem. This was an easy fix and worked as promised. Once the board was inflated we flipped it over to insert the 3 included fins. This was the only snag we ran into, and it seemed that the fins were not going to fit. After applying a bit of heat from a hair dryer to the receivers for the fins I was able to get them to snap in without too much trouble. The fit is designed to be VERY snug at first, but after a little heat (some reviewers mentioned leaving it in the sun for a bit to warm up) all was fine. I was able to get them on and off again a few times over the next few days without having to re-heat the surface. I strongly suggest you test fit the fins before the first use. The board stayed rock solid for the next 3 days with no sign of any air loss, so we opened the valve and deflated it. This took a couple of minutes, and we packed everything up into the included storage/backpack bag. It was plenty roomy and everything fit in without a struggle, including a life jacket I bought to use with the board. Last week we finally got to take it to the beach for a proper test and it was amazing! Inflation and set up went well, fins snapped on as expected without any extra heat needed, and the board proved to be very steady in the water. It is plenty wide and has a 150 kg (330 lbs) load rating, so no trouble there. It was quite light and easy to carry due to the placement of the handles. We tried it out both in the paddle board configuration (see pic) and set up as a kayak and found it very good at both tasks. Both my wife and the grandkids had a blast on it, and I used it as a kayak to ride out on some breakers after a storm, which it handled well. This is a great SUP, and so far it has paid for itself in what I would have spent in rental fees for the week we were at the beach! Once we got home I made sure to rinse it well to get the sand/salt off, let it dry for a day, wiped down all the paddle parts after breaking them down, and packed it all away in the backpack for our next adventure. NOTE: during a storm that blew up 30+MPH winds the board was wanting to take flight from under the rental house but it was easy to move it to a protected area on one of the decks and tie it down. The only problem was the paddle got buried in some drifting sand and the rain pushed that sand into the latch mechanism. It was a struggle to get one section back apart, but I was able to coax it loose once we got home. Since I hadn’t had any trouble getting that connection loose when we had used it before the storm I attribute that to my poor planning, and will protect it from that issue in the future by breaking the paddle down before letting it get sand/rain into it when not in use. TL:DR this is a great board and fantastic value. Read the manual and it will serve you well. ... show more

  • The pump works, the board is great!
So the whole saga. When I got my dolphin 🐬 board I loved it, I pumped it up with the included hand pump in about 12 minutes or so, and I’m senior woman, 😝 . I got scared I was going to pop it if I kept pumping, and the gauge never registered the psi. The support staff at Funwater had already reached out to me to let me know the gauge won’t respond until you get to six or seven psi. They told me to test it by putting my hand over the opening and pumping, nothing, so they immediately sent me another gauge. Still nothing, but I love my pretty board so I bought an electric pump, when I got it to 10 psi, it was like a 🥁. I mean it really was tight. So I got the hand pump out and attached it, it did register at 10 psi. Then I realized I’m the problem, I unscrewed the pump hose and then covered the opening, pumped it, and it does work. You gotten unscrew that hose to test it, I’m so dumb. It would be impossible for me to have over inflated the board with the hand pump because as the psi goes up it gets harder and harder to pump. I never got to even 6 psi with the hand pump so that is why it didn’t register the psi. Believe me, you can play the board like a bongo drum 🪘 no need to worry about over inflation. I never have used a pump like this before and was worried for nothing, such a worry wort, 😂. All the accessories are nice, the seat is good for what it is, I added a waterproof cushion for more comfort. And I bought a kayak paddle. I didn’t even try the included paddle cause I’m using it setting down. Got my dog a mermaid life vest, she fell twice into the water, so it works to hold her up good. Sophia looked so cute 🥰 in her mermaid 🧜♀️ suit! It is light weight but I couldn’t carry it by myself. It does have nice handles in the center and on the back, I wish there was another one on the rear end. I added leashes to the front where there is an attachment ring under the board, just in case I needed to be towed in, 😂. Me and my dog sat on it and it is very stable, it was getting dark so only stayed on the San Diego Bay half an hour. Don’t go in we’re it’s muddy my flip flops 🩴 were sucked off my feet 🦶 by the mud 😆 yuck 🤢! Next time I’m finding a Sandy launch point. It’s a beautiful 🤩 board, and Funwater is a great company! If you are having an issues you should reach out to them, their customer service is fantastic! ... show more

  • great sup, very stable, adjustable oar, lots of fun
Style: Black white pink No Pump & Bag &...
i honestly don't know why other boards cost so much more. this one works great, it's lots of fun, and just costs $100. the oar is excellent too. everything seems very high quality. i got the single-fin one because i use it at a lake, but they have 3-fin setups here, as well, in case you need it for lots of turns and on rough waters. if you get the bare-bones $100 version of this board, then you'll need 2 additional purchases -- you must get a leg strap (which will run you <$10 on amazon), and you should have a pump (and you may want a 5-10L dry bag, which is another $10-20 on amazon). my electric pump (which i usually use for bike and car tires) took a while to blow this thing up the first time, but i don't plan to deflate my SUP. if you plan to deflate and inflate the SUP often because you travel with it, you may want to invest in a faster electric pump (but that's the case no matter which SUP you get; more expensive SUPs do not include electric pumps anyway, and you REALLY do not want a manual pump if you travel with your board). one negative is that the board had a very strong smell when unpacked, but the smell went away completely after the first time i took it on the water. anyway, it works great, feels great, looks beautiful, and i'm very happy with it. it's loads of fun on the water, getting around, and just laying down on it, chilling. ... show more
