  • Hasn't worked since new. Common problem.
Size: 4.8 quart
Hello, this pot look and feels great, and doesn't build pressure. Look at my picture - the design dictates that the steam would need to magically lift this valve so that tue oring seats. However, if you see my photo, there are huge air gaps around the metal valve - so as any halfway coherent engineer could tell you, and as I and many others experience, the steam simply escapes the big air gaps designed into the valve, and then the valve never seats, and then you just wasted lots of money. Buy a different pot. ... show more

  • Very disappointing results
Size: 8.5 Quart
I purchased this product when my Fagor Rapida was discontinued because I use a pressure cooker often for stews, soups and other recipes where braising produces the best results. I researched which replacement pressure cooker would work the best for me and decided on the Fissler based upon reviews from multiple sources. I treated myself to the 8.5 qt pot because I usually make large recipes and freeze what I am not going to use immediately and was very anxious to try it out. I liked the weight of the pot but the high/low pressure indicator was not easy to read and required constant attention while the pot was achieving pressure. I had some scorching issues because the instructions say to bring the pot up to pressure as quickly as possible and my gas stove has high btu's. I decided to lower the temperature on my stove in order to avoid scorching the bottom of my next stew and it still scorched. Then I tried boiling the stew before attempting pressure to shorten the time the pot would be on the stove at pressure, the stew scorched. I contacted Fissler customer service for help. They quoted the same instructions from the user manual that I already had, so it wasn't any help. I made sure that I had more than adequate liquid in the stew, did not exceed the maximum volume requirement and tried again. The pot took almost an hour to attain pressure and when it was finished with the pressure cooking step, my stew was scorched. I think that the pot shape (the flattened cone shape) compressed the heavier parts of the recipe in the bottom and that the 8.5 qt size of the pot took too long to attain pressure (despite meticulously following all the directions and requirements) to cook the stew. I think the bottom of the pot is too thin to handle the longer cooking time to attain pressure. Either make a smaller recipe or buy another product. I am finished with this pot and don't recommend it. I bought another pressure cooker brand and solved my problem first time using the new pot. ... show more

  • 6 qt Fissler pressure cooker
Size: 6.4 Quart
I love this pot. It's not too small, not too big. I use it for cooking spaghetti sauce with Italian pork sausage. No problem at all. Made the house smell wonderful ... like old times. Use the insert to prevent the sausage from burning. Love this pot ... would no regrets on this purchase.

  • Love this pressure cooker!
Size: 6.4 Quart
After having had some corned beef at a relative's home that was cooked in an electric pressure cooker, I decided to do some research before deciding to purchase this stove top unit. I have an induction stove top and decided that I wanted a stove top pressure cooker. The reviews on all of the various ones I read kept coming back to this one as being of high quality. It truly is! I've used it for a roast, vegetables, and stew. So easy to use. So easy to monitor. So easy to adjust temperature. And so easy to clean and store. I am very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

  • The Rolls-Royce of pressure cooker
Size: 8.5 Quart
I owned a Fagor for the past 6 years until the handle melted again. The company has gone out of business now, so I couldn't order a replacement handle like I did in the past. I decided to pay more for a Fissler this time. This is a very high quality pressure cooker. The stainless steel is thicker than the my old Fagor, and the seal is much higher quality. I think this will last me for a lot longer than 6 years. It is definitely worth the extra money. ... show more
