I wanted this knife as it has a very thin and only 5.5 inch serrated edge blade, making it a bit smaller all around from my other serrated Dexter knives. The overall length is 10 inches making it 1in. shorter of my other Dexter Serrated knife and much thinner blade. It's made in USA with Carbon steel, being Serrated, while still sharp, will not slice you up like a boning or fillet razor sharp knife will like I have by Dexter. This a serrated blade requires a sawing action to get nice smooth cuts, really nice for thick skin fruits/veggies, onions or beef or chicken to slice, cut up. The rubberized composite handle grips very sturdy in your hands. wish they had included a plastic Sheath with it, but no biggy. I always hand wash my knifes, then right away hand towel dry them. Even though serrated still be careful this is still a sharp knife and will cut flesh pretty easy. ... show more

I purchased this knife with the primary need of slicing and cutting tomatoes. My preference is a small, thin-bladed knife. Something that will allow very good control of slicing and cutting. This knife fits that bill nicely. I have included the picture of it next to a $ bill for size comparison. It is well balanced and very sharp. The handle is a hard rubber, soft enough to press your fingernail into and it grips to your skin for non-slip cutting better than a wood handled knife. It also makes washing it very easy. It is labeled Make in the USA, which is a plus. The blade itself is thin, not quite 2mm thick, which in my opinion allows easier cutting of large items. You can easily slice a tomato into 1/8" slices should one desire. It has been a joy to use on broccoli, potatoes, carrots, cauliflower and many other vegetables. I ordered this knife for use in my garden and yard. Works great for quick weeding, aerating and plant dividing. I ordered 2 and they work perfect for my needs.     • You get what you pay for! Evan slices right through over ripe tomatoes. Definitely well worth it.
This product is a little pricey, but as well worth the money paid, It slices right though over ripe tomatoes clean!. It cuts potatoes like they were butter. It slices thin cut mean and raw roasts like nothing. It is an all-around great knife. I would definitely recommend this nice I plan on buying a couple of more for my daughter and son who cook a lot also. Very sharp! ... show more
