I saw this come up on my feed a couple of times, and I was all, "I do NOT need another small kitchen gadget! Seriously! SO MANY GADGET!" But then it came up again with my three favorite words attached ("It's on sale"), and in a moment of weakness, I clicked ze button. DUDE. You add a little water, prep your eggs, and when they're all done, IT SINGS TO YOU! Here's how this is a perfect ADHD device: it works just like a rice cooker (also g-ds' gift to ADHDers) by alerting you when the water is completely evaporated (can't recall the exact technology, but that's the short version). The alarm song goes off - it's nice and loud, but not discordant - and the heating element turns off so that you can't burn your eggs! And for people with weird attention boundaries, that's important. It's hella cute and easily anthropomorphized, and the novelty will help you WANT to eat your eggs. Related tip: drop you hard-boiled eggs in a bath of ice water as soon as they're done, then scoop them into a small mason jar with the water going half-way up the egg. Cover, give a couple of shakes, and then the shells will fall right off. This little trick made my last batch of deviled eggs (hard-boiled in the egg cooker!) go SO much faster! I have to say that the dash products are amazing! I have several of their products and it never ceases to amaze me how good of a job they do with their products. It has always been a struggle for me to get hard boiled eggs to come out the right amount of done. And when you have them in a pan you have to watch the meter to see when they are done… lets sum it up to it is a lot of work to get it right. What I love about this product is it beeps when it is done with the eggs. Another amazing part of this gadget it how small it is. It makes it amazing for storage or for me it is even better for an apartment. The only thing that I will say is sometimes if you do not add the wrong amount of water in the dish you have to scrap the bottom to get the crust that forms off but it is not that hard. Just put some more water in there and scrape with whatever you want making it easy to clean and use. Totally would recommend. Also look at some of the other dash products they are great! ... show more

I am so glad I got this. I am pretty frugal and I really struggled with getting it. I mean, I have a pot and water and they work fine, why buy this gadget? I LOVE eggs. I ESPECIALLY love HOT boiled eggs. Every week I will boil about 12 eggs at one time because I hate cooking. So, that meant I only got 2 hot boiled eggs. This is so easy to use. I pour the water in and after 7 (I think, I've never timed it exactly) minutes, I have a hot boiled egg. I don't have to cook them all at one time because it's so easy to use and there's no clean up. I LOVE the medium boiled eggs, I like them runny and they're EXACTLY RIGHT EVERY TIME!!! If you're on the fence about this, I promise, you won't regret it! Even a child can do this!!! What a great way for them to learn how to cook. I got the yellow Dash egg cooker and I'm glad I spent the few extra dollars for it. Yellow is my favorite color and I use this everyday. I’m not one to buy a bunch of random kitchen gadgets that only do one thing… but boy am I glad I got this! It makes it so easy to eat eggs every morning! No pans to clean. No standing at the stove guessing when eggs are the consistency you like. This little measuring cup takes all the guesswork out! My kids love helping use it too as well as the little song when it’s done. The only difficulty for kids is pressing the button without burning themselves as you have to press it super deep. We have made omelettes with spinach, ham, and cheese, poached eggs, and soft boiled eggs! I am so happy to have this little device that makes eggs so easy. It’s really not that big either and the pieces are easily washed. Plus it comes in blue ;) Get one and you won’t regret it! ... show more

My grocery store sells peeled hard-boiled eggs but they cost twice as much as making them myself. I rarely make them because it's such a production. So I decided to get an egg cooker to save some time and money. After reading a zillion reviews here I bought the Dash and am so glad I did! Operation is dead simple and it looks cute on my counter. When the water is boiled away the cooker stops and makes a sweet chiming sound that's loud enough to hear but not so loud as to be jarring. It continues to chime until I come over and turn it off. It makes PERFECT hard-boiled eggs! No complaint there. I drop them in a bowl of ice water and let them cool a long time, but they never peel as easily as people say they will. My solution is to crack and peel them under running water. The omelette is good, too, but the poached eggs always have runny whites. I tried poaching them longer but that made the yolk hard. I use distilled water to reduce hard water mineral buildup on the metal plate. The calcium in the eggshells leave a little buildup on the plate but It's easy to remove. If you only care about hard-boiled eggs and omelettes then you can't do better than this little cutie! I docked it 1 star for the poached eggs. If I ever learn how to overcome that problem I'll come back and give it 5 stars. Apologies for any typos. ... show more
