I've tried both the rose gold and red. This hair makeup is beautiful but I recommend putting in on your hair after styling/drying your hair. It does come off over time but I didn't notice any staining so that's good. I enjoyed the smell and I'd recommend using gloves just to make clean up easier.

Okay first I bought two colors: blue and copper 1. Definitely need more of the blue dye on your hair vs the copper which seems to spread more easily. So you will definitely end up using more of the blue in one dye verse the copper. 2. The blue is a lot less glittery than the copper, the copper is very glittery but I like it, it’s shiny. The blue is definitely more expensive of a matte finish. I added some keratin oil to add shine to the blue. 3. It’s dry. Sorry but it DOES make your hair dry and stiff. 4. HOWEVER, even though it’s dry and stuff you can stuff move your hair around, think a hair spray that that stuff but still nets your hair move and shift and you can pull it apart without it turning white lol 6. Once dry doesn’t transfer or smear (so far), however if you hand is damp or wet and you touch your hair forget it. So don’t wear on a rainy day if you going to be outside and you tend to forget your umbrella. I haven’t slept with it in my hair yet so we shall see how it does on a pillow 6. Curls, it does seem to help hold curls. My curls have always been a disaster but I tried diffusing with this in it and I liked the result for the most part, I need to practice with diffusing. 7. I brushed through when I used the copper it definitely transfers to the hair brush and my straightening iron 8. Adding extra when it dries is great for uneven areas and it a quick dry with the blow dryer and done 9. It takes forever to air dry and you HAVE to have a towel cause it puts dye on everything it touches. 10. Hence I switched to diffuser dry. If you just blow it, it tangled and gets VEEEEERY stiff. Gently blow dry is highly recommended Overall I give it a B+ and will buy again ... show more

Yes, it is thick and dries in a stiff cast on your hair. But this IS for curly hair so... The application isnt super easy because once on the hair it feels a bit sticky and stiff, but it helps if your hair is pretty wet so that it helps to thin it out and distribute it throughout. The cast creates a nice curl and scrunches out nicely. The color is awesome! I used to get my hair colored to a rose gold but now that I have gone curly, my dark blond hair is a bit dull colored and this rose gel really spiffed up the color. And it was really well distributed too. I love it. I cant wait to try the copper. It is a little difficult to refresh with this gel and is more of a wash the day after thing... ... show more

The styling gel part of the product is great. It really does hold without a curl cream. I was amazed at that. The Rose Gold and the Ruby took in my hair (bleached blonde). The Turquoise turned my hair gray and I looked like an old woman with it. It also was more drying than the other 2. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that the others are super thick and creamy and the turquoise was really runny. Whatever it was it was I didn't care for that. This has a lot of glitter flakes in it and they go EVERYWHERE. I had glitter everywhere on clothes for days. Even after it dried I had red transfer onto my sweater. I like the hold aspect. The Rose Gold and Ruby are good for temporary color (like today I put rose gold in again for a change from my normal blonde). The Turquoise though is not doing it for me. I don't apply to dry hair after because it's already drying enough I didn't want to add more to it and dry it out more. ... show more

I have curly hair and have wanted to use Curlsmith products for a while. My daughter had crazy hair day at school so I figured this was a good chance for two uses of one product. She has straight fine hair and the color sat well on her hair. It was clearly a colored gel type paint on her hair but it worked for crazy hair day. I used it on my curls and while the color was definitely there, it wasn’t as pronounced on my curls as on the straight hair. My hair is black so it almost looked like fine highlights ... show more

This is super misleading and will ruin your clothes and hands and shower. The color comes from glitter which was a surprise to me and only realized once the product had dried. It got under my finger nails (acrylic) for weeks, and was just a nightmare overall.

While my curls did look amazing after using this product i am still removing the orange glitter from ~everywhere~. took about 3 shampoos to have the product fully wash out, which surprised me because any kind of moisture and the product instantly transfers to anything in reach. I tried this product in copper on my young locs (naturally black) and it showed up like a redder version of 30 braiding hair. Can be vibrant or subdued depending on how much product is applied.
