Why would anyone think that if you put these knives in the dishwasher where water sits on them for an extended period and the knives won't rust I've no clue when that happens to any knife you plan on cutting something with. I bought these as a replacement set for my mom. She has used Chicago Cutlery as far back as I can remember. The variety of knife types is what drew me to this set, and the desire to have the block, as this helps with storing them. I have no doubt they will last for years to come.

A great knife set for a small household that cooks almost daily. Knives came very sharp and feel high quality. Comfortable in the hand and cuts like butter. The wood stain is evenly applied. I really like that the block is modular so the steak knives can be brought to the table easily when hosting. Great knives. Have had them for years and they're still in as good as new appearance. I just sharpen them once in a while with the included steel and they're still very sharp. I also always put them in the dishwasher and the handles are still as good as the day I got them.
