We eat a lot of fruit in our house and dehydrating is a great way to take it with us on hikes or dry canning when it goes on sale and we buy a bunch. After burning out several different dehydrators we have been thrilled with this and its been put through the paces. The first week we did a half a dozen pineapples, 9 bunches of bananas and a handful of kiwis. The second week was all about apple and strawberry chips and herbs from my tea garden. It's used at least a couple times a week since. Relatively easy to clean. We use a nylon scrub brush and it works really well. I was amazed at how quiet it is. Even standing next to it it's hard to hear it going. My only complaint is that it did take some tweaking on temps and times with the various things we've dried. Not at all what the booklet had listed but not hard to figure out either. I do not like the fruit leather tray at all that came with it. Outside of that it fits nicely on my countertop and works beautifully. ... show more

Love how quiet it is, how nice it actually looks, and how well it preforms. First off it’s so pretty. Its take a bit of counter space but you won’t want to hide this baby away, at least not during the growing season. I’ve done both fruits and vegetables and they have turned out perfect. Having six racks makes it possible to jam SO much into this machine at once! The hardest thing I have found to dehydrate was basil, but after reading reviews on 100 products I think this is basil issue and not a functional issue of this machine. The Trays are a pain to clean but that’s not a surprise. Get a vegetable brush and you’ll be fine! The bottom is hard to sweep out so I just give mine a good shake to clear the debris. Or you could just do better then me and don’t dehydrate tiny pieces on the regular tray. They give you a fine mesh one for a reason. The outside gets warm but not hot. I prefer to run it while I’m home. Get this machine, it will not disappoint! ... show more

Great price . I like the timer and heat setting options. Nice appearance. Things I don't care for as much are the plastic trays, I should have upgraded to metal trays. I'm afraid the plastic will break. I don't like the door design. It feels flimsy and you have to be aware that it closes properly. Solid unit for the mid price range. I can't speak for the taste. I use it for my dog treats. EDIT: 5 months later. I use this dehydrator once a week for the last 5 months. Making dog treats primarily meat products. Works great. The plastic trays have held up to my not so gentle treatment. It cleans up easily. I accidently left it outdoors and it rained heavily. I thought I ruined the machine but after drying out and leaving it on overnight all the controls came back to life. I was very happy. I bought this during a lightning sale. For the price it has been a work horse in producing snacks for my dogs. ... show more

This dehydrator is the right size, very quiet, and very easy to clean! The only slight down side is the door is a little tough to open but not a big issue. I highly recommend this product! It works great for drying royal icing on cookies or transfer sheets.

I hope this helps everyone but I have had my dehydrator for the last three years and let me tell you best investment ever I used to make my jerky in my house but then I realize I’ll put it outside so for the last year and a half two years I have dehydrated my meat outside on my deck. The deck was obviously covered, but it was stood all the elements and here three years later I tell you it still works flawlessly. I bought this for my husband to replace our older dehydrator. This one is so quiet and easy, to clean. We made apples right away and they were delicious. It is a bigger unit so it isn’t something we would leave out on our counter all the time but I do think we will get lots of use out of it.

This is a handy thing to have as part of you kitchen appliances. I love beef Jerky and even deer Jerky. This will do the job. Takes longer than I expected but nevertheless gets the job done.
