Disclaimer: I am not a huge fan of stylish cookware in general, but I was in need of a new stock pot and this showed up on my radar screen, and I was intrigued by the ceramic coating. When I opened the box I was rather impressed by the packaging and presentation. Attractive, simply designed, elegant, and efficient. (I'm moving soon, so I'm definitely saving the box for transport...) The pot and lid were also very simple and almost plain-looking, if not for the handles. Yes, the handles. I don't think I've ever encountered handles this smooth, slick, and stylishly comfortable. The lid is much thicker and heavier than "normal" (i.e. what I'm accustomed to) and it is completely flat, as in, no geometry designed to route condensation back into the pot when the lid is lifted during or after cooking. So, drips. Not a deal breaker, though. The pot itself is deceptively solid without being heavy. I have no idea what material it's made from but it seems to have much better than average heat retention, which is good for long-duration cooking. Fit and finish are top quality. As for cooking, it's definitely designed for the long haul; it doesn't heat up very fast. I put 1.4 liters of water in the pot, put on the lid, turned on the induction hotplate to 50%, and it was almost to boiling after 20 minutes. I think it's best suited for simmering. The non-stick coating is truly a marvel at not sticking. Very quick cleanup. I hope this magic lasts a long while, and it's for sure that I will not be letting novices use this pot so they don't scratch the coating. I didn't much care for the color options Caraway offers -- had to look up the origin of "Perracotta" on their web site because I thought it was a typo. I prefer my kitchen equipment to be functional rather than stylish, anyway, so the designer aspect is somewhat lost on me. This pot is very nice, I will get lots of years of use from it, however I honestly believe I could be happy with a lesser pot with a much lower price point. So, 4 stars out of 5 from me, although I'm sure anyone willing to pay close to $200 for a stock pot would not be disappointed with this one. ... show more
