There are plenty of other great photos posted by other reviewers. I'll skip those and get to it. Anytime a product costs this much more than entry-level products in the same category I put on my serious tester lab coat. Expensive is often better but not always. Similarly, some things can be a lot more expensive and only a little better. I dissected these thoroughly and watched and read many other reviews to see if my findings matched what others were saying. In answer to another reviewer's question: Yes, pans can be sexy or at least it can feel great to use them. I'll not bother comparing ceramic to chemical nonstick coatings. It is sufficient to say ceramic does an amazing job. There are a few things that set this specific ceramic set of pans apart. The place they shine the very most is their even cooking. These take longer to warm up than other pans but there is a very good reason. These include a layered plate in the bottom to distribute heat better than any other nonstick pans I've ever tried. The metal plate is thick and covers the entire burner which is great no matter what kind of range you use. Even heat is really important for great quality. As you should suspect at this pricepoint, everything else is flawless, too. The packaging is beautiful. You know before you open it that you're about to have an experience. The handle is solid. The color is perfect. The size is convenient. Nothing sticks. They are great at all temperatures. In all fairness, I don't use my range at temperatures that will burn oil, I try to keep everything just below the smoke point of whichever oil I'm using and these certainly work. Just know you'll have to take a few minutes to bring it up to temperature before you start cooking or you'll keep bumping the heat and then it will get away from you. If you keep this in mind, these will do an amazing job for you for years. ... show more

These Caraway griddle pans are gorgeous. This is the first time I've used ceramic coated pans. The ceramic coating looks amazing and feels very durable. It feels like it's completely unified with the pan and even on extremely close inspection, it looks solid. Picking up the pan very much reminds me of solid cast iron pans. These are heavy. I love heavier pans because they've always cooked better. They tend to distribute and hold the heat better. These days great in heating and cooking uniformly. The handle never got to hot to use with my bare hands and there's a grip stopping point, on the underside of the handle, a couple inches from the pan, that indicates where to place your hand so you don't get too close to any potential hot areas on the handle. This pan has a higher heat tolerance than most other nonstick pans. The square shape basically doubles the amount of cooking room I get with round griddles. These cook great (with little oil needed) and clean easy. These are high-end pans and worth it if they last a lifetime. I'm a cast iron pan cook and these cook similar to will made cast iron pans, the pro being that these will not discolor certain foods like cast iron does... and these look much better. ... show more
