  • BEST CHAIR EVER
I was interested in this initially bc it says its fully adjustable and also looks so much like a Herman Miller chair that I definitely can't afford. I was having back pain after spending the last few months working from home in just a regular dining chair. After reading the reviews about how comfortable and supportive this chair was, I went for it. Shipping took a full month but it was worth it! I have had it about 2 weeks now and haven't had any back pain despite sitting in it most of the day every day. Plus, it looks really good in the room, unlike the vast majority of office chairs. Definitely recommend this. ... show more

  • Well built, comfortable and very easy to assemble
I was wary that I was going to be disappointed with this purchase because it's what I would consider expensive and my expectations were high. This chair has been totally worth it. There is a noticeable difference in the length of time I can tolerate sitting at my desk and my back feels way less strained working from home on the computer all day every day vs the chair I had before. The chair cushion is very thick and the back support is great to where I don't slouch as much. I love the back because it allows airflow to keep it from getting hot sitting in a room with 5 windows in July and I really like that the back reclines separately (which apparently is unusual) from the seat so I can get a good stretch in one in a while. I'm confident that this chair is built sturdily and will last for years. Heck, I may need to take it into the office with me if we ever get back to normal. ... show more

  • Wonderful Chair!
I've been working from home for 10+ years and had a very cool, but very uncomfortable vintage office chair. Sure, it looked great but I broke down and decided to buy a modern office chair (for the sake of my lower back). Naturally, I wanted something that looked cool but functionable. When I found the very expensive designer version of the chair I fell in love but that price tho! So when I found this chair I decided to pull the trigger. I've had this chair for six months now and it's perfect. I'm tiny, and it's not too big. It was easy for one person to assemble, heavy and well-made. The seat is firm but still coushy. The back can tilt back which is prefects for pondering crap I need to work on. Rolls around find on my little thin rug I have under it. It has lower lumbar support but nothing robust (which I like). This is kinda like a good firm mattress of office chairs. If you're looking for something that is soft that your body melts into, this is not for you. But if you want a good office chair with a bit of support and a few features (adjustable height, swivel, etc) then I think you'll like this chair. I feel it's worth the money to spend a bit more on a solid, everyday use chair. ... show more

  • Best chair if you can't afford the Sayl
If you're like me and you've been searching all over for a comfortable desk chair, and you admire all things Herman Miller except the price tag, then this is the chair for you. My husband has a Sayl; he bought it when they were a bit more reasonably priced. Unfortunately by the time my turn came around to buy one, $800+ was just out of budget. I searched around for a good alternative, and I have found it in this chair. It's incredibly easy to assemble, and it offers great lumbar support (which I really need in a chair). The wheels are smooth and the grey/white matches the desk I bought. Overall, for the price point, I really don't think you can go wrong. ... show more

  • This chair is not for short people.
The seat is too deep for people who are shorter in stature. The arms are hard, too short, and set to wide to be comfortable. The arms do adjust easily for height setting. The plastic back is cold and it never warms up. The lumbar support is awesome!

  • I had a Sayl at the office and wanted to get one for my home office.
Color: Grey/Black
So, I took this gig that came with a sweet office. And that came with a herman miller sayl chair. I was like .. this is NICE! But I wanted it for my home office, and me being me, I did a crap-ton of research. I ended up buying this chair instead of the sayl, because the adjustment levers are way easier to figure out (my legs are the wrong length everywhere, so I need a lot of adjustments). However, the sayl has a better, more comfortable seat, so if that's something you want, keep that in mind. Both chairs are fantastic, but for the price, the Bowery chair slightly edges out the sayl ... and that's a tough mark to beat. ... show more

  • Nicer than the original
The coworking space I rent an office from has Herman Miller Sayl chairs. They look nice and are comfy, but I didn't want to pay the hefty price tag the HM brand. I have another Laura Davidson Empire chair that I love, so figured I'd give this Sayl knockoff a try. To my surprise, I liked the Laura Davidson Bowery much more than the Sayl. It has thicker, more comfortable padding on the seat, and it feels more supportive against my lower back. The color scheme of the white/grey/black also looks far better than the all black Sayl chairs at my office. Laura Davidson is one of my fav, unknown brands that I love telling friends about. ... show more
