  • Love it.
I use this chair daily as I work remotely for my company. I have had this chair for quite some time now and it feels as sturdy today as the day I got it. Comfortable, easily put together. Very comfortable for a large person, I have always had difficulty with standard size office chairs being tight, not the case with this chair, plenty of room. Absolutely love it. ... show more

  • *EDIT* Please read for updated review
First off, I'm a heavy girl. I don't quite need a 500lb weight capacity chair, but I do need up to 450. Having said that, I've been supremely disappointed in my many expensive chair purchases in the past. I've bought ones that were heavy pleather material with metal bases, I've replaced hydraulics even before sitting in chairs only to have the wheels break on me. Even those rubber chair caster-type wheels. Speaking of those rubber caster-type wheels, they are better than the ones the chair makers send, so I do still recommend if you're a heavy person, replace the wheels or at least get a set to have on standby if needed. For reference, I've purchased and recommend wholeheartedly: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G643EU6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Now, as to this chair. I had just broken the wheel off my previous $400 chair when I finally decided to purchase this one. I was concerned about the weight capacity because it says 500, but one user said it was 400. (It did say 500 pounds on the assembly instructions. FYI) So I waited with bated breath. Then the chair arrived, and I looked in awe once put together (a process that took 20-30 minutes). I was so amazed that I took pictures so you could all see. This is a WIDE CHAIR. I mean, SUPER WIDE. The pictures I've attached are unaltered. I wanted you to truly see how wide this seat is and how roomy it is, even for someone over 400 pounds. The frame is sturdy metal, and the base is also metal. This base is amazing because each spoke of the base is a separate piece. This means that if I need to eventually replace the hydraulic, I can do so with relative ease. The others? You need an air hammer and an engineering degree. The armrests are one point I don't care for but are not a deal-breaker. They are sturdy on metal pieces attached to the chair base, but they are not adjustable and sit a bit low. The only point that drove the 4-star rating was the seat's comfort. The seat, while nice and wide, is not very padded. Thus not too comfy. However, I added a cushion and called it a day. The chair leans back with some effort which is fine by me, so I don't tilt back too fast. Once tilted back, it is incredibly comfortable. The mesh is nice for airflow. The lumbar support is ... eh... it's ok. I don't sit that hard back into the chair where it does anything for me, so it's an unnecessary addition. The bottom line is that this chair was half the price of any other one I bought and worth every penny. I would strongly recommend it, especially to people of size (and height!). --------------------------------- **EDIT 6 MONTHS LATER** As you can see above, I was so happy with this chair. For the first time, I felt like a chair was wide enough and comfy enough. The seat wasn't thick padding, but well, I could fix that (I thought). However, now 6 months later, here are the big issues you can expect to find with this poorly constructed chair. 1. The seat cushion is way too thin. It feels like sitting on a block of cement (and quickly). it started pretty quickly to feel like this, as I even listed above (and my review was written within a few weeks of receiving the chair). 2. The mesh back will tear at the metal sides with any pushback. If you're tilting the chair, you're pushing back, so be aware it can rip and likely will (as mine has done). 3. Quickly, I felt like I was leaning forward or tipping in the chair. I prayed this wasn't the case, but sure enough, my sitting became more of a leaning forward. This is by far the most disappointing (and scary, as in lack of safety) part of this chair. I thought the seat was deep enough to combat this, but not. As a result, the wood piece (yes, wood) that is the constructed part of the seat will eventually split under the weight that this chair says it supports. As I mentioned, I am not nearly close to the high end of the weight limit, but this chair is no longer usable six months later. Now not only will I need to try to get support on this chair, but I will likely need to replace it entirely. Of all my more expensive chairs, this has lasted me the LEAST amount of time. This chair has essentially cost me $39/month (at the price I paid for it, which was $235 and change). The others were twice as expensive but lasted me at least a year, mostly two, before becoming unusable. I am hopeful that customer service will be supportive. But I am afraid nonetheless... We shall see. Please do consider this very honest review when considering spending your money on this chair, ESPECIALLY if you're a larger person of size who needs a chair that not only works but is safe and comfortable. **Further update** I hate when people continually update their reviews. It assumes I'm coming back to read more. But I understand today. I posted such a glowing review at the start, then a follow-up review mostly as a safety warning to others who might buy it, that they consider heavily how easily the base/chair broke. But the final follow-up I post as a much more strongly worded review, do NOT buy this chair. The support number given leads to a company that offers no help whatsoever. Indeed they don't even sell this type of furniture as the person who answered the phone told me. I am left with a broken chair that I cannot even salvage for parts. I can't get a refund of the money I am owed, given it's well within the timeframe of the original order. Half the battle in any purchase is the relationship with the manufacturer, and there is none here. Even if you have success with this chair, at some point, if you need your warranty handled, they will not handle it. My last recourse will be to try to get amazon to help me. I am not hopeful. But either way, I am left without my money or chair. Perhaps I've just gotten the one bad chair in the bunch, but for the cost, do you want to take that chance? It's up to you. ... show more

  • I finally found the chair that’s right for me!
Mission: I needed to find a desk chair to replace one that finally wore out. I had been using cheap chairs bought at various stores for years and just replacing them. I’m tall and very heavy these days. So I knew if I wanted to find a chair that would last, I would need to find one able to support my size and weight. Price: I’m not exactly rich, so I need to find something that would fit my budget. When I had looked at Big & Tall chairs in the past, the prices were way too high for me to afford. I found this chair for under $300, and considered it a good deal. I ordered it with little fuss or bother. However I was a little miffed that I could not get free shipping, as a Prime Member. But given the size and weight of the box, this is probably to be expected. Shipping: The chair arrived a few days sooner than expected, which worked out great! The box was not too huge but it was heavy and a little awkward to handle, but I managed. Packaging: All parts came wrapped in plastic and/or bubble wrap, to prevent damage during shipping. It was all very easy to remove. All the bolts and bolt driver came packaged in a labeled blister pack, which was very convenient! Assembly: The instructions may be a little confusing! I recommend watching the assembly video on the product page to get an idea of what to do if you get lost. Aside from a few minor issues, assembly was pretty straight forward. I took my time, and had it all done in less than an hour. One of the selling points for me about this chair, was the fact the arms could be left off if need be. I simply don’t have the room for them in the place where I sit. However, I’ve kept them in storage along with the instructions and everything else I need to attach them should the need arise. Style: I have very simple tastes. I did not want a typical “Gaming Chair”, nor did I want something too odd or fancy looking. I just needed something simple. Preferably, something that would match the black work surface of my desk, and blend well with e rest of my furniture. This chair fits those requirements perfectly! Comfort: All in all, this probably the most comfortable desk chair I’ve tried! The seat cushion, back rest, back cushion, and height adjustment are all excellent! Everything also feels very durable. I can see this chair lasting for several years. Conclusion: It’s a great chair for a great price. Very comfortable, easy to assemble, easy to adjust, and durable construction. I’m very pleased with this product, and might even get a second one for another desk in the house! ... show more

  • Over all I'm glad I gave the chair.
I purchased September 2022, so it's been over a year. The seat does not have a lot of padding so I brought a pillow that works perfect with it. The arms do fall off, I've just become custom to tighten the arm screws with my finger during the day, and if I do it at least every couple of days the arms will stay on. The gas cylinder does not hold up, but being a bigger person I've been dealing with that no matter what chair I have. The reason I brought this chair and the reason I'm completely satisfied with this chair is I no longer have to suffer with bruises and tender places on my hips/upper outside legs from sitting in a smaller office chair. I wfh 40+ hours a week and being able to comfortably sit in my chair is amazing. I'm 5'10 and 440 lbs. It's hard finding suitable accommodations for someone my size, but this chair overall was worth every penny I spent on it. ... show more
