I did a ton of research on home office chairs and found a lot of compelling evidence that this is the best one for overall posture, back health, and back pain (I previously linked the articles but I'm not allowed :) The chair itself doesn't disappoint! It has all the functionality to adjust as needed.     • Extremely adjustable and comfortable for workday sitting
I highly recommend this chair for it's adjustability and comfort for working long hours in it. I was getting back pain partly due to my previous chair forcing my back to curve to sit in it. This chair is FAR better for maintaining proper posture and sitting comfortably. The back adjusts vertically so you can line it up with your back and has a tilt control so you adjust to allow for more seat space or to push your back more forward. The seat as well has all the adjustments you would expect: lift, tilt, and forward/backward adjustment. The arms also adjust vertically. The seats are firm but not uncomfortable over many hours of sitting (and I'm big so I'd feel it), and the arms are about the same. The arm pads can be a little uncomfortably firm if you dig your elbows into them for too long, but I'd rather that than foam pads that flatten out. The only downside has been one of the arms tearing open at the sides from wear & tear. However, they're covered under warranty and the seller has been absolutely wonderful with getting the replacement arms to me. ... show more

    • Great Chair with minor issue
I love the chair, but after 2 months of use the chair lift piston started sinking. It's not a big deal, and I haven't even contacted Alera support I just ordered another standard size piston and hoping it works. Other than that, amazing chair for the price. Update: Had to also buy a pipe wrench to get the damned cylinder out but it's not Alera's fault it's how all these chairs behave ... show more

This chair has high potential to be a great, supportive chair. However, the chairs pneumatic cylinder’s box came broken and flew around who knows how much. It also came with broken internal pieces that I’ve included pictures of. There are no good videos on putting this chair together and the person who assembled it had a very, very difficult time - and I still do no believe it was done correctly. If you can buy it already assembled from a more reputable store / seller, I would do so. ... show more

    • Avoid at all costs!
Squeaks constantly very loudly and uncomfortable. My $40 chair from Walmart is more comfortable and nowhere near as loud. When I reached out to the seller to ask for help, they closed their account.

Went work from home like most of the world. Needed a good chair that wouldn't break my back or my bank! This chair is very comfortable! It has great lumbar support and feels very heavy and sturdy. Feels high end without paying $500+ for a brand name. Lots of adjustments possible with all the settings. The stock armrests aren't super comfy, but I bought memory foam covers for like $10 (The Aloudy brand here on Amazon) and the fit perfectly! Would recommend for sure! ... show more
