Description

Zippo’s Matte lighters are one of the most popular lighter finishes as the matte finish gives the lighter a smooth texture, it doesn’t show fingerprints, it doesn't scratch easily, and there are a variety of colors to choose from. The black matte lighter was first introduced into Zippo’s stock line in 1984 and soon after four more colors were introduced; blue, burgundy, green, and grey. In 1985, the Zippo logo was imprinted on the lighter and a border was added. Matte colors and designs continue to improve with time. Each lighter has a bottom stamp signifying the year it was made, is refillable, and is backed by Zippo's famous lifetime guarantee. All windproof lighters are American made in our Bradford, PA factory and come packaged in a gift box.

This is a really cool looking lighter. It's a classic zippo. It arrived super quickly (note- without fluid). You need the liquid lighter fluid for this kind of lighter. There are tons of tutorials on youtube if you don't know how to refill it. You will need to learn to refill it well- it's pretty 'fuel inefficient'. I think it lasted about two weeks before I had to refill it (admittedly, I smoke more than the average person). One thing to note- the flip top is pretty stiff when it arrives. So i purchased the matte blue with zippo logo on the case, lighter. to cut cost from having to go to gastation, and pay almost 2.50 for a single bic lighter.each time. recieved the matte blue zippo logo lighter and from some instances throughout reviews that seemed to reoccur, i inspected both the case and the standard insert both the case and the lighter insert with stamped with Zippo etc, made in usa etc my friend had just received one with a china made and branded insert. im not sure, if zippo changed anything, about the info they stamp on the bottom of the case, in the last 20 years. So if they did and i missed it, or etc. apologies. the only difference i noticed was that zippos mo used to have a roman numeral stamped n the exterior bottom of the case. which was not present on mine. the other item is this, the hinge on the case that attaches lid to lower part doesnt seem ike its designed to be subjected to much use other than sit on a coffee table or etc.. oter than that it stil wrks its showing anything like its gonna break apart so very pleased thanks ... show more

Bought this for my friends 22 birthday after he voiced his admiration for my Zippo. His favorite colors are blue and green. And they didn't have the shade of green he liked so I went with blue. He loved it! Great Zippo quality as usual.

Overall pretty nice, but as others have mentioned the hinges are partially painted which looks off and for mine the lid doesn't seem super flush, as it can wiggle back and forth a bit. Kind of nitpicking, but zippo used to be known for higher quality.
