I’ve had other torches, that the ignition gives out after 4or 5 uses and can’t withstand being on for more than 10-15 seconds, but this eagle torch stands up to 45 to 60 seconds of continuous browning and melting ingredients on desserts and dishes and lights back up. Easy to fill has settings for quick and extended use plus there’s a safe stop feature. Unit also has a great little pull out piece which acts as a stand so as not to burn any surfaces after extended use. Also, great to light barbecues on windy days as well. Both myself and my husband love these lighters because they’re easy to use. Some days our hands just don’t seem to want to work with us since our careers involve hands on everything we do. It takes a toll eventually and we rely on these for daily activities such as cooking. Every time we buy a set within a week or two the red one stops working properly like it’s not letting enough butane out to stay lit. Then not much long after that the black one goes but opposite effect, it’s letting out plenty of fuel but won’t light. The blue one puts in some efforts but surely quits after a bit. And easy to use but sometimes I try to turn down the flame and it will only go so low, however it doesn’t seem to be a problem most of the time. However, If you over use it. The flame starts acting like it’s a bic instead of a torch but even then it works pretty good. Overall I would recommend this product. Took the first one and the igniter button broke on it! Second one does not last very long just like a bright candle it flames out quickly when trying to light lump charcoal. Bought 5 not sure how intelligent that was now!
