  • Highly Recommend
Size: 3 Gallon Style: Single
Excellent product, highly recommend. I initially ordered this and received one that didnt work. This happens - some products are just duds. But I got in touch with customer service and they immediately sent me a replacement. I wanted to use it for awhile before leaving a review, and I can say without any doubt that this is one of the best heated waterers you can get for your flock. We've reached 20 degrees F here already and have been below freezing for days, and it's working exceptionally well. Keep in mind it only kicks on when it reaches a certain temperature, so the water doesn't stay "warm", it prevents freezing. 5 stars for the actual product. 5 stars for the company that didnt hesitate to take care of their customer. Absolutely recommend. Its worth the money, just get it. ... show more

  • Third winter still working great.
Size: 2 Gallon Style: Single
This will be my 3rd winter using this heated chicken drinker. I had to test it to make sure it was working because it doesn’t really heat the water (it doesn’t feel warm) it just keeps the water and the nipples from freezing. It took many nights of 20 degree temperatures and low 30’s during the day for me to tell. I finally unplugged one and the one I had unplugged was frozen this morning and the ones plugged in were just fine. I would recommend buying this. ... show more

  • Great product!
Size: 3 Gallon Style: Single
Loving this so far! I live in Northern Wisconsin, and this has been a sanity saver, as we have been hit early by single digit temps. This heated waterer has kept my chicken's water from freezing over, and I only need to refill it once every three days! I've read the reviews where people complain about spilling the water, but it's not much different than the other waterers I've used. Yes, you have to be careful when you flip it over. I always make sure that I turn the lid to the right before I pick it up, and I've had no issues. ... show more

  • I want a refund. These are junk.
Size: 3 Gallon Style: Single
These are absolutely AWFUL! I bought these this summer and they were really neat looking but I found out they come apart very easily. Instructions are to fill them upside down once you lock the two pieces together, but the tabs don't stay in the locking piece, dumping the entire feeder's worth of water on the ground. But I lived with it, because if I was very careful, I could get the tabs to stay put. Then a month later, one of the tabs on the white plastic portion broke off. "Ok, I still have two tabs, it seems to be sufficient." Then fast forward to the first day we had temps in the 30's. Not one, but two out three feeders fell after the very thin plastic handles broke. I found myself wondering why, since they are clearly designed to hang by the handles. Then on closer inspection, the red part of the feeder on one was irreparably cracked, which makes the entire unit useless. The waterer is designed to refill after the level gets past a certain point and the cracked part was below that, causing the feeder to run dry within minutes. And this is all before we even got cold weather. Even so, after all of this, I was willing to tie a new handle through the holes where the old ones were, because I really need heated water units for my chickens. Winter is here as of October. Right now as I type we are in single digits. So you can imagine my extreme disappointment when one of the remaining units cracked when it slipped out of my hands, with only 5" left between my arms and the ground. So now I have two coops, extremely cold weather, and only one functioning watering unit. I can only hope that one of my local feed stores has a unit that I can replace these with. It's either that or run out every hour, thaw out the waterer, and refill. If I had internet at home, I would be posting pictures. I am an easy customer. I put up with several flaws and now I don't have water for my chickens. I should have replaced them at the first hint if trouble. The only reason I have this one star is because I had to in order to leave the review. ... show more

  • Does it’s job, but not the best
Size: 3 Gallon Style: Single
I’m a few weeks into using this waterer, and here are my thoughts so far: Pros: - Does a good job of keeping water thawed (we’ve had some nights in the single digits). I think it keeps my coop slightly warmer, too. - Easy to use. Plug it in, and away it goes - Stays clean. I set it on a cinder block, but it doesn’t seem to get as full of bedding and debris as some of my other waterers. - Not super expensive Cons: - Not very big. I have 14 layer hens now living inside 24/7, and I have to refill almost everyday - Refilling is awkward. I don’t think the rubber plug is that much of a perk, since you have to turn the unit upside down regardless. And you are guaranteed to to spill some water on the ground or on yourself when you turn it back over (unless there’s a trick I don’t know). - The bottom doesn’t snap firmly into place, so if you are carrying it by the handle (for example, from the house to the chicken coop), the bottom may come loose and fall off. Twice. Making your feet and your chicken coop very wet. Overall it does its job, but I wish I’d sprung for a different one that holds a little more water and can be filled from the top. ... show more

  • Fits in coop
Size: 2 Gallon Style: Single
The media could not be loaded. I have 5 buff hens and their run was destroyed by the winter weather. So they had to be temporarily pinned up in the hen house. I hung this waterer and a 7lb feeder on a roosting bar using metal s hooks. And it worked great. I added tons of straw to the hen house so I didn't want a normal waterer because it would get dirty fast. And the heating function worked in negative 10 degrees! It was plugged into a extension cord and from my garage. The hens had never used a nipple one before. But I just tapped the nipple with my finger they drank one learned it then the others did what the one learned. Monkey see monkey do. This holds a insane amount of water and worked great in this unfortunate time. I grabbed a gallon pitcher from the kitchen to fill it. Trust me this is worth the money I've had chickens for 4 years and never knew how great and easy it was. You can even put a piece of corn near the nipple to get them to understand. They learned in like 5 minutes ... show more
