  • No rust

I bought this product due to the reviews. I found it to meet the advertisement. It held of fine over winter and never allowed the water to freeze. The only issue I have with it is the unit sometime comes apart after filling (top and bottom separate on its own). I fixed mine by adding a screw so the unit could not be separated. When cleaning is required I simply remove the screw and then replace. Unit meets the needs of three chickens for a week before refill is necessary. After reviewing other watering methods I may choose to go another avenue in the future so there would be less need for refilling. ... show more

  • Works great but huge design flaw
Number of Items: 1
I have two of these. I love them because it keeps the chickens water from freezing in the cold Utah winters. However there is a huge design flaw. The way to fill it up is upside down. You can either fill the white bucket, then screw the red bottom then flip it, or you can screw both parts together, then fill using the hole in the bottom, then flip. Both ways, you have to flip the container, causing you to lose water. It’s especially frustrating when you the screws become undone and you lose all the water inside when you flip. This has happened to me more than once. Please, please, manufacturer if this product, if you could, move the bottom hole to the top, it would make refills so much easier!! I would buy another one if you would update the design. ... show more

  • Excellent heated chicken waterer.
Number of Items: 1
This chicken waterer is perfect when we had an extremely cold snap for a few days. Temperature got in the negative degrees with the windchill. The water never froze and it worked perfectly. I like that. It has a rubber stopper in the bottom. Two things I would recommend to change. Loose from the base, so I put duct tape on it so it wouldn’t come apart. The second thing is the cord is very short I would like to have a longer cord. Otherwise great great product. ... show more

  • Works great

We have mild winters, but they do get cold enough to wear a water freezes. So for my dozen chickens this did really well for me inside my coop. Luckily, I have electric in my coop. The only drawback is it’s 3 gallons of water if you fill it all the way up. That’s quite heavy. But that’s life not the product fault ... show more

  • Don't hang in cold climates and stops working at 0 degrees!
Number of Items: 1
Okay so heres the deal. I purchased this for my chickens. I live in NW Montana. It gets really cold here in the winter and we get lots of snow. I purchased this with the intent of hanging it in the chicken coop (It does have a plastic hook to hang it). I didn't want to set it on the ground. I wanted to hang it. Purchased and received in September. Hung it in the coop right away. Worked fine in the warm weather. Went out to the coop yesterday (December 12) and it was sitting on the ground. The plastic hanger on the unit itself broke. Had to use coat hanger wire to make a new hanger. Can't believe the hanger on this unit is plastic. Positive note: the unit works well keeping the water warm enough so it does not freeze. Disappointed that the hanger is plastic and broke. Additionally (as I found out the hard way) this stops working when the temperature drops below 0. We had some of those days. Went out to the coop and the water was frozen. In the companies defense, the owners manual does say that the unit does not work below 0 degrees. Buyers beware. ... show more

  • Weak Handle

Second winter using it and the handle had gone brittle. Fell apart in my hands causing it to fall and shattering the base. Not of any use anymore.

  • A must have for any chicken owner
Number of Items: 1
This heated waterer is a must for any winter with chickens. Sturdy and durable, easy to clean and the fill plug on the bottom makes refilling easy. My first one lasted 6 years and finally cracked during a winter power outage. My only complaint would be the handle. It breaks easily but this time around I’m mounting it on top of two cinder blocks instead of hanging it. ... show more

  • It serves its purpose
Number of Items: 1
I loved the idea of an integrated heated water system for the winter. It could be hung, or set on the ground. The problem is, the holes are too big imo, and cant adjust the flow slower and when hung it is literally a disaster if set inside a coop. I did not want it set on the floor due to all the poo, and wood shavings for it to soak and freeze. It spills all the time since I've used it you'll have to most likely make a separate compartment to set it in or on to avoid spills, and debris. Otherwise it's great, so far. ... show more
