The media could not be loaded. The fan is light weight; I can carry it with one hand. The base is wobbly. I will knock the fan over if I accidentally bump into it. I am considering filling the base (if I can get it open without cracking the plastic) with sand or some other heavy-ish material to see if this will help to stabilize the fan. Meanwhile, I move it to a safe spot when it is not in use. The floor model is not as tall as I had anticipated and the table version is taller than I expected. When I think table model, I think of it being on a desk and having it cool me down while I work, but it is apparent that it is not meant for a work table. To go from floor to desk, simply remove the bottom pole connector and screw in the top. I found it difficult to screw the poles into the base because it is plastic. I could not completely screw them into the base, but it seems to be enough. The fan can tilt up and down and side to side, all at the same time, following an interesting pattern. The up and down pattern follows a 90-degree path, from horizontal to vertically up. The horizontal path is also 90-degrees, left to right and then right to left. I am impressed that I can sit 10 feet away from the fan and feel the wind blowing on me when it is set to level eight, which is decent since it goes up to speed level 32. I will use level 32 when I come indoors after working in the yard and am near exhausted and hot. It cools me down right away. The remote uses infrared, so there must not be any obstructions between the remote and the fan. The remote is necessary for ion on/off control and the timer; otherwise, the controls on the pole of the fan can be used for on/off, speed, baby & child wind speeds and wind directions. The buttons on the pole do not light up, so it is difficult to see them in low level light. The Operation Instructions offers “simple troubleshooting” for two issues. One is for noise that is heard when the fan starts. I can hear is a slight noise when using the fan below level 22 speed. Higher than level 22 and the wind overtakes the sound of the fan. So, I opened up the fan casing an inspected the blades. I tightened the screws (to hand tight) and noticed that a screw is missing, which may account for the slight noise, which, strangely, cannot be heard on the video. I also tightened a loose knob that is at the base of the blades. The noise is just a smidge less. It is not an obtrusive sound, but I am dismayed that there is a missing screw and that the knob was loose. Almost the entire fan parts are plastic. The accompanying Operation Instructions lists Lead and Cadmium (and their compounds) as harmful substances in the Electronic Components, Hardware and Power Cord Components that exceed limit requirements, and this must be documented for the consumer. However, it also states that there is a 10-year environmental protection service period, so that “[ . . . ] the harmful substances in the product will not be leakage and mutation [sic]. [Using] the product will not cause serious pollution to the environment or cause serious damage to the user’s person and property.” Further, “‘Environmental protection use period’ is not a safe use period.” So, if you choose to order this item, please remember that you must dispose of it appropriately. ... show more

    • Very impressive fan. Almost comfortable with the Varnado for speed.

I had some issues with AC last summer, so I got a Vornado. It moves air around here like nobody’s business. This year the AC problems continued, so while I was waiting for it to be fixed, I got this fan. It is very comparable to the Varnado. I don’t know if it is just psychosomatic, but it feels like the Varnado still edges this one out. Where this one has the edge, is an all the features. It has an ion something something, which I really don’t understand. But the other features are easy to see. Unlike the Vornado it has a remote, a definite bless! It also is able to oscillate vertically and horizontally. Which is good for moving around air in the winter as well. It comes with an extendable stand, so you were able to have it on bedside table if you want, or on a longer pole to set it on the floor. Are used the longer pole, and it is pretty sturdy. The only thing to make sure is that you might need an extension cord if you have it near the foot of your bed. The cord that it comes with is not very long. Only about 3 feet. Still I’m very impressed with it. You can get cheaper ones that probably move around the same amount of air, but not with all the other features. ... show more

    • Excellent tower fan for daily use

We love using this fan for daily use! It can rotate right/left and up/down which is very unique. It also has a child mode and sleep mode which makes the fan very quiet. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great tower fan.

The media could not be loaded. This fan is little but so neat. You have to put it together a little bit, but it’s not hard. It has a small remote with a cat face on it…. Do not put the battery in upside down. It will get wedged in there. It’s a button battery and the bottom faces the remote face. You can’t look at the directions for any help whatsoever unless you read Chinese! They are ONLY in Chinese! Not very good for us Americans who speak and read English. They don’t have it in any other language at all. Thankfully it’s pretty self explanatory though. On the fan itself it has the power button then the speed button…. Which for some strange reason has 32 speeds that it rotates through. Then you have the rotate side to side button and then a rotate up and down button. If you have both going it kinda goes in circles. The remote however has 3 extra buttons. One looks like a baby and when you press it it says low and puts it super low blowing. The next one I think is a kid and it say L1 but I have no idea what it’s actually doing. Then there 2 circles and pushing it removes or put the circles back on. I didn’t notice a change in fan operation or speed. Oh and you have a timer to set it to go off as well. So other than figuring out everything on your own, it’s a pretty good fan ... show more

Checked boxes: WHISPER QUIET: Even at high speed, the noise is pleasant, without a jet engine whir. GREAT AIR CIRCULATION: Excellent circulation around the room, even at low speed. GREAT LOOKS: Amazingly compact and clean design, lightweight yet stable. TIMER: Works from across the room and has a cat face on top! IONIZER: Helps purify the air, which is a real boon with cats! OSCILLATES: Moves both up and down, and side to side! EASY CLEANING: No screwdriver needed! Unchecked: No EnergyStar rating.
