I was not sure about getting this fan even though I needed one. I got it on prime day for a good price considering how expensive fans have gotten. I am very glad I did. Its great!!! Very powerful but not too noisy. Love having the remote and also enjoy that is has a smaller ranger of motion so I get more air than other fans. The timer is great so I can leave it on for my dog while I am away and know it will shut off. The sleep mood is nice, but I tent to use the timer feature more for sleeping. IMO, Lasko make the Best fans on the market. I have owned Lasko fans since late 2006 and have had Zero issues with them. I anticipate this fan will be no different. Firstly, this fan is Ultra-Quiet, almost too quiet. The only sounds other than rushing air is the hum from the electric motor. Air flow is strong. Oscillation speed is slower than I am used to but is not slow enough to give a negative review. (If one is a Halloween Prop Maker the oscillating speed of this fan would be Perfect for a creepy slow-moving prop!) The green LED power light is bright enough to be seen across a well-lit room but not so bright that it interrupts sleep or blinds you when making a 3:00 Am toilet trip, LOL! If I had one request for Lasko it would be, Please make the fan about two inches taller. ... show more

Even the low setting on this fan is pretty powerful, and it really helps to cool a room down. But it isn't exactly quiet, and the green LED on the front isn't great for a bedroom. If you want white noise and have a bit of electrical tape to cover the LED, it could work well for sleeping (although you have to be careful how you position the tape because the remote control sensor is right next to the LED). But in general, for a quieter option, I'd go for the Honeywell QuietSet, even though the newer models are a lower quality build compared to the ones from a few years back. ... show more

I set a goal not to use air conditioning to lower my electric bill. This fan was the only reason I was able to manage it. It circulates the air very effectively and kept my living room and kitchen cool when placed by an open window. The height allows for air to move in the airs where it will mostly hit people standing or sitting nearby aiding in cooling them. The fan is sturdy and was not knocked over once by people or pets even when the zoomies hit. Fast assembly meant it was out of the box and working within minutes of its arrival. PROS 1.) Limited oscillation range. At a distance of 12 feet, the oscillating fan covers ~15 linear feet of space. 2.) Very directional makes it nice for individual cooling in a hot room. 3.) Low speed is still powerful so far as airflow. High will cool you in a jiffy. 4.) If the fan is turned off in oscillating mode, the next time it is turned on, it will be in fixed mode. 5.) The fan is attractive. 6.) Easy to put together. Maybe a two minute job. Snap the halves of the base together, snap to fan. 7.) Remote takes two AAA batteries. 8.) The fan was well padded in a thick corrugated box. 9.) The buttons on the remote are very legible. 10.) The remote can be hung in a slot on the top rear of the fan. CONS 1.) The remote is directional. You have to aim it dead-center at the fan. 2.) Fan-mounted function buttons are small and hard to see. Use the remote. 3.) I wish there was a fourth, higher speed. But then, I like a fan that really blasts air when I want it to. 4.) Some buyers may not like the characteristic listed in item #4 of "Pros". 5.) The biggest "Con" for me: Compared to a box fan, this is not a quiet fan, but then, it was not advertised as being so. The whirring of the fan motor would be a great source of white noise in itself but there is a hum that emanates from the fan that took some getting used to. At first, I thought there might be loose screws causing vibration but that was not the case. The hum is a constant level... it does not get louder as fan speed is increased, therefore, I notice it the most when the fan speed is slowest. If the hum were not present, or less intense, I would have given it a higher rating for noise value, and I would consider the fan to be perfectly engineered. I bought two of these fans a year or two ago and they have been great. Still completely silent. The new one I just received doesn't match them in appearance. The plastics used seem different (back panel feels cheaper) and I hear what sounds like a sloppy bearing when the fan is running. I'm going to let it run for a while longer before deciding whether or not to return it. It isn't extremely loud but is significantly louder than the original fans I purchased as they make no noise. Though my real concern is that the bearing will fail. It seems like this is another situation of a company value engineering the value right out of the product. ... show more
