I believe this pad functions just as good as a Cricut, but I do not have one to compare it to. It did not heat up significantly on the bottom as I feared it may given that it is double sided. It would be very hot on the top, which is the point and just a little warm on the bottom after multiple uses. I got this to use with my Hvront hand held heat press. I set it up on the granite kitchen counter top which provides a very smooth surface to work on. You can set your t shirt or whatever you are sublimating or adding heat transfer vinyl to right on the pad. For t shirts I found it easiest to put the pad inside the shirt so you were only dealing with one layer if fabric. All in all I would highly recommend this pad. ... show more
