    • Excellent Value. But Use Aluminum Channel to Install!

***UPDATE A note about the aluminum channel: The problem with the U-shaped channel is that it will cast a 6" shadow on the back wall. To remedy this, I tilted the channel about 20 degrees using a Rube Goldberg type system that I won't bother trying to describe. It works fine, but if I had to do this again I would probably use the V--shaped channel. I want to thank reviewer Gary B for saving me from my instinct, which of course was to install these directly on the cabinet. Don't do it! Read his review. Buy some aluminum channel, which is made for this application. It is inexpensive and available on Amazon. Personally, I prefer screwing the channel into the cabinet because it is easy to do and is more secure, but I don't regret buying the nano tape, per Gary B's advice, as it has many applications around the house and is also a great product. Anyway, I'm giving the lighting 5 stars based on value -- these are an outstanding value, and will save you hundreds of dollars over more traditional solutions that contractors tend to want to install. And they are just as good, if not better. Is there room for improvement? Yes, there is. If they wanted to achieve product perfection, I wish all the connector cables were round wire rather than flat ribbon cables. Why? Because if you want a clean, professional installation you will likely need to drill holes at various places in your cabinets. Drill bits are round. If they would make these so that the cables fit through, say, a 1/8" round hole, even complex wire routing would be a piece of cake. Unfortunately, the extensions and connectors (and, by the way, they also sell kits to get more of same) are all flat ribbon cables. So unless you're good with drilling holes larger than 5/16 (or bigger), which can be difficult in certain tight areas, you're going to need to drill multiple holes per route, and rout/ream out material to make a slot rather than a hole. I used a Dremel routing bit for this. Frankly, that's the only flaw I can see in these things, and it only really comes into play in more complex installations, or where you really want to hide every wire. Otherwise, they work really well, the quality of the light is excellent, and you will get a professional look at a small fraction of the cost of more traditional approaches. ... show more

Ok super easy to install. We didnt see the extra corner pieces until after we installed but it worked just fine. I had a light bulb that kept blowing out everycouple of months above the stove and under the microwave. I didnt want to buy one more stupid expensive bulb so bought these. My oldest kid said they used them around under their cabinets 8n their rv and they loved them. They installed by pulling off the tape on the back and sticking them under my cabinets it was like under 20 minutes! Bam! I absolutely love this solution to my problem. It is so bright on 100 percent on the remote that we can now cook by that if we ever have to. There are settings for 100%, 75%, 50% and 25 but then there's a night light setting too. Absolutely amazing and so happy to have spent the 20 bucks or so to try them out. I was spending that a few times per year to keep stocked on the stupid light bulbs that were no where near as versatile as these lights are. I'm so freaking happy. We should have done this years ago! I was worried about the heat from the stove being right under them but we shall see. If I have to buy another set later I dont mind at all since I love these lights so much. Its totally worth it. I havent even played with all of the settings yet! If you were on the fence, just get them. ... show more

I really like these lights! They are inexpensive and have a nice, warm glow. I took the advice from another user and put them in the Starland LED aluminum strips. I attached them with the nano tape (I should have ordered the more narrow type - I ordered tape that was wider than the strips). That tape is SO sticky - good and bad. But sure you know exactly where you want the strips because the tape is very unforgiving, but the strips are not falling down. The whole process was easy and I really like the result! The only down side is that the remote worked for about 10 minutes. That is not a big deal to me, but may be for others. I would hope the seller would rectify this, but I am not bothering as I like the on/off switch. ... show more
