These gloves are very soft, at 8 oz (even if they're for kids) a small person could easily use them as well. The downside is since they are so soft there's not much in the way of protection or stability. The cuffs have no stiffness at all and there's no stiff foam in the glove itself. The foam in the end where the point of impact is easily is compressed and the glove doesn't help with absorbing any of the shock of the punch. These would probably be okay with reflex or double end bags, or work with hit sticks (maybe mitts). If the kid or smaller person can generate a good amount of power behind their punches be aware of how much you're generating when wearing these gloves. They're better for speed and precision than power. Pros: • Very comfortable • If you're a small adult wearing them they don't have anything printed on them (usually the thumb) indicating that they're kids' gloves (if that matters to you) • No scratchyness in the cuff or palm area Cons: • No stiffness in the foam • Easily compressed - no shock absorption for power punching • Thin cuff - no support Another downside with my order is that they came looking like they had been used once or twice already.... ... show more

Slimmer fit, perfect for sparring. Update 8/20/2020: These gloves have worn very badly. Padding has compressed in the knuckle area. Velcro straps Do Not strap anymore at all. I have to tape them. I order on 2/2/2020. Didn’t not use until March; through April 6 2020 when Rec centers closed. Resumed use middle of May to date. 5 months worth of training and these gloves will become useless.
