Here’s the deal, you get what you pay for and with this knife edition/series you actually get way more! This is a exceptional knife set, that if used properly and care for properly will last you a life time. In regards to previous reviews, they are incorrect and inconsistent. Use a knife properly and there is no issue with the handles of these knives, you are not supposed to have a death grip on the handles of a knife, they are supposed to be a extension of your hand, and if you have to over grip a knife...send it back immediately. These knives flow in the hand of a home cook or a chef! The blade is extremely well forged and extremely sharp! If you are use to dull knives, I caution you that this is not a knife for a novice, let the knife do the work! This is a exceptional knife for the price and I would suggest you start with the set and add to it depending on what you enjoy doing in your culinary adventures. As for the butchers review, if you are a commercial butcher, buck up a buy butchers commercial/industrial knives. If you are a home cook/chef you are all set, you are going to cut apart a chicken or trim a piece of beef or pork and theses knives with work like a breeze! Follow the instructions and you can enjoy these knives for a lifetime. *Note: I took my knife set to my professional knife sharpening expert (25+years in business, in the Chicago restaurant industry) and he said these knives were the very best he had seen and would recommend them to clients that had knives not worth the price of sharpening. Our old set of knives was getting cracked on the handle, and we wanted to have a lighter color this time, as we're trying to make our kitchen lighter. We settled on these knives, and we weren't sure how the knives would be, but they've been delightful so far. All the knives feel sturdy but also very balanced. Some steak knives cut well, but I didn't enjoy how heavy they were. My hand size is XL for gloves, and it doesn't feel small, either. The base/block is well made and adds a nice touch against our white countertop overall. The overall quality and the look are exquisite, and we hope these knives will stay sharp! ... show more

I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on knives I don’t think it’s necessary. These were reasonably priced very sharp. We’ll see how they hold an edge. I’ve had them for a week or so now and I’m very pleased with them.

The description clearly states that it is dishwasher-safe and rust-proof. After only a few uses rust was already prevalent on a number of the blades. We will see how the seller reacts and if they stand by their products. I hope they either refund me or replace me with a knife set that fits the description. ... show more
