  • Holy Smokes! What a fantastic DVD player!!!
Great picture and sound. HDMI port and cord included. Play music with flash drives through USB. Very reasonable price. It installs in seconds. My old DVDs play like brand new. Light and compact. Remote works from clear across large room. On screen display provides time played and time remaining. Very happy with purchase. ... show more

  • Not good
My old Sony player began acting up so I bought this thinking it would be a great replacement per the reviews. It played ok except for one very huge flaw. When I would choose a specific show from a sitcom DVD, for example, episode #7 via the remote---a random episode would start playing instead. I went back to the root menu and tried again---press #7 episode----then a DIFFERENT random episode would start playing! I tried again and again to get to the episode I wanted and every single time a new random episode would begin except for the #7 that I wanted and specifically clicked. I would have laughed if it wasn't so annoying!! Since there's absolutely no other way to choose the episode I want to watch except through the wonky remote, I had no choice but to unplug this evil little player and connect my old Sony again where to my relief, I was able to choose episode #7 easily and calm down lol. Maybe I got a defective one or maybe it's just made poorly. I don't care to find out with a replacement and am sending this back. Oh and the red flags went up as soon as I saw the enclosed card from the manufacturer bribing customers to leave a 5 star review in exchange for a $15 Amazon Gift Card. This is unethical business practice imo and I cannot and will not be bought. So here is my honest 1 star review. I do NOT recommend this dvd player. ... show more

  • Great customer service
The first DVD player I recieved didn't work, and I hadn't opened it to try it until well after the return time. I gave a bad review on the product. Shortly after my review I was contacted by the company saying they would refund my money or send me a new dvd player. I chose to get another player and it work fine. They went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the product. Hard to find that in a company now a days. ... show more

  • A Solid Choice for Movie Night!
I've used this DVD player for a little under a week, and I have to say for the most part, I am really impressed! Here are some pros and cons that I've come across: Pros: - Compact and easy to set up - Supports 'progressive scan' (480p) - Fast load times - Support for component video (YUV) which is nice for older model flat screen TVs with analog inputs - Standard composite output is sharp, with three sharpness options - Nice LED indicator for loading, running time, tracks, etc. - Responsive remote with easy access to captions, menus and such - 'Resume' feature - Excellent sound fidelity Cons: - Comes with composite video cable, even though it does support component. This saves on price, though! - Can be fairly loud spinning up if on a wooden or hollow surface, but this usually stops when a movie is playing - Component output is not color coded properly, but they are labeled so it is fine Overall, I would definitely recommend this product! ... show more

  • No more headaches.
I finally replaced a player that frustrated me because it was crammed and overburdened with features I'd never use. This player's documentation is straight forward and easy to understand. Hookup/Setup was a breeze. It took no more that about 12 minutes to swap out players. The player worked perfectly right out of the box. The picture quality is excellent for my Sony TV. I haven't tried Out-of-Region DVDs but I presume they will work. I play mainly Nexflix movies. It's nice to pop a disc into the player and get the menu right up, or to re-engage the film where you left off. The remote is well designed and easy to navigate. ... show more

  • Inexpensive, but OK for US and European DVDs
Some movies are only available in European Region 2. This Tojock unit plays them without complaint. Last night, we watched Alex Guiness in "Our Man In Havana". Excellent film; it cost me $10 new, shipped from the UK. There are a few US Region 1 coded "Our Man ..." DVDs around; Amazon sells one for $111.41 with shipping. So by buying this projector, I saved $73, and can watch other European movies (Velt Helmer's "Baikonur" is a favorite). I use it to feed RCA-plug composite video to a professional InFocus computer projector, so I don't know how it will work with other displays. The Tojock onscreen menu can select many different video formats, all work with the InFocus; your mileage my vary. Downside - the Tojock had some problems with an American Region 1 DVD; the extras on the restored Hitchcock "Vertigo". It mixed up the selections on some of the extra segments. The same DVD works fine on my Panasonic DVD player. That ancient Region1-only player rejects disks for other regions, and has problems with scratches; I'll try more scratched disks on the Tojock. The Tojock remote buttons are high contrast and easily viewed, but track selection can be strange. The control buttons on the unit itself are black on black, difficult in a well lit room and impossible in a dim one. The display is four digits and TINY, so it won't display running time properly on a more-than-100-minute DVD. So, the Tojock is inexpensive, and won't entirely replace my trusty old Panasonic, but it will expand the world of videos I can watch. I will borrow a few scratched Hindi movies from the library and see how those work with the Tojock - other borrowers seem to use those DVDs as frisbees on gravel driveways. ... show more

  • FREAKIN TERRIBLE
I only just got around to using this after buying it months ago... which means I cannot return it. One the SECOND DAY of use its nearly tanked! When its spins the disc, its LOUD! Sounds like it may self destruct AND it constantly freezes! Sometimes I cannot get it to play at all even after restarting it! The discs are BRAND NEW! There's no reason this should be happening. This wasnt worth a single star... DO NOT BUY IT! ... show more
