    • Does NOT play HD DVD formatted discs.
The description was unclear so i asked the community if this played HD DVDs (HD DVD is an older high def format that competed with Blueray and lost). Someone replied that it does so I ordered. I can say definitively that this unit does NOT play HD DVDs. Sending back for a refund.

Before I purchase my product I did my research first. Other devices didn’t post region free. I have DVD’s from Brazil, England, Germany, DuBai, and Spain. I read the manual book and saw nothing. None of my foreign DVD’s will play. All I read is Error when I tried to play them. I am so disappointed but oh well it’s too late to return it and I’ll wait until I can afford a Blu-ray DVD player again. ... show more

    • Sound bar problem.
With the dvd player plugged into the hdmi input on my Vizio TV. The sound goes off when I turn on the power. Leaving the TV on if I turn the power off/on to the sound bar it finds it and plays. If I unplug the hdmi connection from the back of the dvd player I don't have any problems with sound bar (sound bar is Vizio brand too). I don't know if it's just my TV or make of TV. It may not affect other brands I don't know. ... show more

    • Best DVD player I ever owned
This is by far the best dvd player I ever owned. It plays everything under the sun and loads the DVD very quickly. It is only 9" wide, half the size of the old clunkers I got rid of. If you turn it off before finishing a movie it remembers the location when u turn it back on. The remote is high quality, not one of those cheap card-types with bubble buttons. It would be nice if it were more powerful. I can't bounce it off the TV, must point the remote at the player. Be sure not to lose the remote. Keep it in a VERY safe place away from the dog. You can only load and play DVDs from the front keys -- there is no ability to set anything via screen menus. ... show more

Hooked up was easy, as soon at the player arrived. Played the movie I had waited a few weeks to watch. Worked great. Glad I replaced the 2 year old player that would not load discs with this one.
