Very sturdy gate. I love the cat opening. Easy to put on the wall. I did not use the double sided adhesive or screws and cups. The rubber that is already on it was plenty for my household since I do not have any small children, only dogs and cats. Door does swing back to closed. Overall very happy.

The adjustable cat door is just what we needed. I have two older cats (one with arthritis) so jumping into and out of the cat room has been getting harder for them. We have smaller dogs (mutts) as well so they could get through the typical "cat" door. With the adjustable we were able to allow the cats in while keeping the dogs out. Highly recommend! I have a cat and 4 big dogs that love to snack on the litter box. Our house is configured in such a way that it’s difficult to put up traditional baby gates. And our cat isn’t super thrilled about hopping over them. I set up this gate in front of a small walk-in shower. It’s perfect. The cat goes through the opening and the dogs can’t fit. The door easily swings to clean the box. It was wide enough to fit our shower opening (most gates were not). I didn’t have to drill into the shower - the included tension pads are enough. Do I love having a litter box in a shower? No, but we tried to make the best out of a tricky situation. A 100lb dog (or 35lb toddler) could probably dislodge the gate if they were super, super motivated. But our dogs have never touched it. I think it could probably handle a kid pulling up on it without coming loose, but you would probably want to monitor this. Altogether a cheap-ish solution to dogs eating the cat litter; very pleased. ... show more

It does the job, easy install, looks nice. I gave 4 stars because I have to keep tightening the bottom due to baseboards. Either way I would buy this again due to the adjustable pet door. Perfect little door for adult 12 lb cat.

Having installed a similar product, this assemby was very easy. I did, however, struggle with the caution that the gate be 16" from the first step. That is, my treads are 11" and the construction of the staircase does not allow me to anchor it as there are no walls to anchor the gate to according to the caution. This is likely a moot point as I was going to fasten the gate with the supplied mounting cups. To confirm that the gate operates correctly, you need to cut the "belt" (cable tie). An extra belt is included. Helpful Hint: If the gate is not going to be permanently installed, eg. you only need when a grandchild visits, use the extra belt to hold the mechanism in the correct position. I purchased 18" extra belts. They're a bit long but that was what was available. ... show more
