This is a good cable lock, in that it comes with 3 lengths that can be switched out per specific needs. Where I plan to use this I may use the 2 longer lengths as needed. The mechanisms for locking and switching out the cables is much clearer in the product photos then the included instructions. I just downloaded those photos for future reference. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that ALL the cables come tightly coiled. It was VERY difficult to stretch them out to encircle what I wanted locked. This makes it very difficult to take the cable lock on and off. If you have a fairly "permanent" situation, this may not be a problem, but I need to unlock and relock the cable fairly often. I tried stretching the cable out for 24 hrs, but that did very little to uncoil it. Other than that, it is a good cable lock (I know some reviewers said it wasn't that secure, but my needs are for a "deterrent", more than a hard core "prevention" type use). ... show more

The very first time I tried to use this lock I tested it by pulling it apart to test the strength. The wire cord easily pulled right out and broke. This is absolute junk.

Many times it is nice to have a simple lock to prevent snatch and grab. It doesn't need to be big or super secure (because that costs size and weight) just enough to stop someone for a bit or make them move on. I’ve never seen a lock designed like this one. The solid metal casing is fairly heavy and appears to be simply pressed together. The slide and etc to set the combination are right on the front which seems strange to me. I thought it would be hidden somewhere else. I like that there are three different cables with different lengths. They make possible to use this lock for many types of things. Using this lock is a cinch. Once you have set the combination by following the instructions, to use the lock you select the cable length you need and lock it in place on the top, run it thru whatever you are locking up and lock the cable in place on the side, then change the numbers of the combination. To unlock it just move the numbers to the combination you selected and push the button on the front to release the cable on the side. Cables can be easily change by release them on both sides. I got this lock to secure cabinets with when I put my tools in them at different work locations and it works great. I had to put some self-adhesive foam pads on the back of the lock so it did not damage the cabinet doors if it was bumped or hit. I don’t see this lock as something to use for high security applications. The cables can be cut with with a bolt cutter and the button and levers could possibly be manipulated with a hammer. The case looks like it could be pried open as well. But it is a good deterrent for smaller applications like cabinets, lockers or say to temporarily lock up a bicycle. This locks unique design makes it versatile enough for many uses and its decently priced too. ... show more
