Installed this properly and the led strip would not power on. I plugged them directly into a USB outlet and they lit up, so the box is just no good.

    • Inexpensive Hue Sync alternative
Don't expect Hue performance, or nearly as nice of an app, but once it's setup properly it does work. The directions aren't particularly clear and might even be misleading, but reaching out to the company helped clarify things. Hopefully they update the instructions. It's a good cheap option for a spare or kids TV and does add fun lighting. Outside of syncing with your TV there are a few nice looking effects you can set it to, along with a music nice. You can of course just set it to a static color as well. ... show more

    • These work... but..
These lights work great, got them for a friend for his birthday. The directions are definitely not the best. But once we figured it out they work great syncs up nice. Makes your tv feel bigger then it is.

    • Does NOT work as advertised
I did everything as instructed in the user manual and also followed the video instructions. This does not sync to your TV screen in movie mode . Even when I click movie mode (stay on screen) and leave it sitting it doesn't do anything. Waste of time and money. Definitely going to be returning

Hello nice product works, works when applied correctly to the tv. Instructions provided are contradictory in steps 1 and 2. When following either of the steps as independent thoughts you still can not achieve the accurate light display. We had to pull off the lights 3 times Finally we simply put up a color wheel on the tv and applied the lights based on the displayed color on the strip; now it works very well. The media could not be loaded. These lights have multiple uses and I'm very happy with the variety of colors, patterns, brightness adjustments, and options the app empowers you with. The HDMI box comes with everything I needed to hook up to my home theater. I purchased the 1pcs unit, and I have a 65 inch TV. I uploaded a picture showing the amount of light strip remaining on the spool. I have approximately 2 feet leftover, meaning there was no issue with worrying if this would come with plenty of coverage for most people. There's 2 HDMI IN ports, 1 OUT, and 2 USB ports for connecting the light strip, but with 1pcs, you'll only use one and it's already wired directly to the strip right out of the box. You simply cut to size at a proper contact break on the strip. I have a Pioneer A/V receiver that has 2 HDMI "out to TV" ports. All of my components are hooked to my AVR, with 1 Out to TV going to my TV's HDMI ARC port. I never thought I'd need to use my 2nd "out to TV" AVR HDMI port, but I'm using that OUT to go into the HDMI 1 input on the Sympa light strip box, so that ALL of my components are easily fed into the HDMI sync. And the best part is, I only add one connection (included) to my current setup, and there's no need for me to feed back out to anything, or buy extra cables. Happily, this Sympa box doesn't require me to go back to TV! It just works by receiving the HDMI signal from my receiver! Now, it's not flawless, I do have a minor issue. I don't know if it's an incompatibility with Dolby Vision signals, or an incompatibility problem with just my receiver, but my receiver tells me with a prompt when I turn the Sympa box on, that "NOTICE Dolby Vision TV is connected to AVR. However, AVR does not support this version of Dolby Vision TV. AVR may not be able to Output Dolby Vision signal properly." Having said that, it still works with Dolby Vision content. It's just not as accurate. I'm not going to fault the Sympa for something I can easily bypass, especially when it does not advertise that it is compatible with Dolby Vision. So I'd recommend shutting off Dolby Vision when using this. The CozyLife app allows you to choose custom, movie, music, and scenic colors. Movie mode syncs to on-screen content. Scenic is preset color patterns. Music integrates an onboard microphone that syncs music to on-screen color strobing. I uploaded a video of this because it works better than you'd think, and it was easier to capture this on video with the TV display off to see the colors in action. I'm very happy with this TV light strip. I can customize it to be always on, at any color, at any brightness, with any content. I can allow it to sync to what's playing on screen. I can use a preset pattern when the TV is off. I can have a light show timed in tune with music. It's very versatile, not like many light strips that are only customizable and don't work with audio OR visual content. Apparently you can sync it to Alexa, or Google Assistant. But I don't use those, so I'm quite happy simply using the CozyLife app. I would say it was pretty easy to set up, but I'm very tech savvy. In conclusion, I'm enjoying using this HDMI light strip. I think it was a great addition to my home theater. Just when I thought I had all the tech for audio and viewing pleasure, they come out with something else that's pretty cool. I like that it's customizable and I'm in complete control so I can have it do whatever I want... Or even just shut it off if I want to enjoy a movie without it too. I'm very happy I didn't settle for just a cheap light strip that doesn't interact with my audio and visual content. ... show more

    • Theres a reason the videos don't show movie sync mode, it doesn't work.
Tried all the trouble shooting, watch all the vidoeso, every other feature works just not the one it advertises and I bought it for.

Colors sync up great. Used it for video games and it was easy to install. The adhesive could be a bit stronger but other all it is staying on the back on the TV nicely.
