I was very hesitant at first because on a lot of reviews, not just with this fountain but on a lot of others, there are a ton of complaints about noisy motors. But I took a leap of faith and got it. Best thing ever! It did not require assembly at all. All I had to do was set how fast I wanted my water to run and fill it up. I used distilled water so the tubes wouldn't get clogged. I keep it on my desk at work and surrounded it with greenery and it has made my cubicle space so relaxing and Zen. And the lights aren't that bright to me. Sometimes when the water starts to run low the motor will start to get loud and it will start to make tiny gurgling bubbles in the water but once you add some more distilled water then all of that goes away. I also set mine on a timer so it turns on and shuts off by itself everyday. Great purchase! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I received it from Amazon and started using right away. Unfortunately, the pump started drowning out the water sounds in a few hours of use. UGH I thought. I reread instructions and recleaned it. Plugged it back in and tried again. The pump was still very loud. I emailed Sunnydaze with the problem. Next business day they sent email apologizing and notified me that they were sending a new pump - no questions asked. I received new pump within 2 days. I unpacked it, ensured it was clean and put it in. I was skeptical and hopeful and to my pleasant surprise, it worked and is working. I have been using it nearly non-stop since and I am very pleased. I like the design, the water trickling sounds are wonderful and calming. The lights are a little bright when you look at them directly, otherwise, this piece is near perfect. I gave it a 5 star because it was delivered on time, is as described (and probably better) and customer service was incredibly timely and efficient. I cannot hear the pump unless I put my ears to the actual location. The videos show the piece in action and you can hear the wonderful sounds as well. ... show more

I love this fountain. I wasn't so sure about it upon purchase due to some negative reviews, but I've had it for a little over 2 months now and love it. It sits on the corner of my desk at work and has really contributed to the "zen area" I've tried to create. I put some small river rocks in the top 3 "bowls" and they added to the look as well. I leave it plugged in Monday - Friday (refilling as needed) while I'm in the office and unplug it on the weekends. So far, I haven't had any issues and consider this a worthwhile purchase. ... show more

The fountain itself gets a 5/5. It's exactly what I was looking for. It has quite a lot of "water sounds," which I wanted. The lights are nice. I have to "water" the waterfall every 2-3 days, but that's fine. My complaint is that when I opened the package, there was a special tag on the top rock that read something like, "This product contains a compound that has been shown to cause cancer in California." This was a real buzz-kill to read after I had chosen this fountain from so many others (which all also probably have the compound, whether or not other manufacturers "announce it" this way). I was buying the fountain for peaceful/healthful purposes. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I think this fountain looks better in person. Also, you can't hear the motor and water sounds are not loud in person. The water sounds are softer. Pictures and videos don't do it justice. I have been using it for about 2 weeks.

    • Utterly disappointing—save your money
TL:DR—Pump broke, fountain leaked after I fixed the pump, then when I fixed the leaks, the pump starting buzzing horribly loudly after just one day of running. Very frustrating. Details: I bought this fountain for my home office. I tried to assemble the little pump, but the plastic connector piece where the hose attaches broke. Rather than send it back, I decided to fix it…I was able to repair it with some epoxy and attach the hose. I filled it and turned it on, and it looked pretty and ran fine. Then I left for an hour and came back…to find that it had leaked all over the counter. Luckily I hadn't moved it to my wooden bookshelf yet. But the pump was nice and quiet, so I figured I'd just waterproof the leaking parts of the fountain where water was oozing out from the fake rock. I did, and waited several days to make sure everything had completely cured. Then I ran it again, and the waterproofing held…but after just the first day, the pump started making an awful, very loud buzzing sound, and I couldn't get it to stop. I checked it but nothing seems to be broken; the pump just was vibrating like mad. By this point, it was too late to return the item. My advice: Save your money and find a sturdier, less leaky fountain with a more reliable pump. ... show more

    • Loved it but stopped working
This is an update on my previous review, I absolutely love everything about this fountain except the fact it quit working within 2 months of its' first use. The pump still works but there seems to be an obstruction at the top where water feeds into the top rock. I cannot reach in there and disconnect it nor can I see the top of the tube in hopes of fixing the problem. Really disappointed. I wanted running water in my home for Feng Shui. The water sounds are lovely, I want to be able to hear the foundation running. Easy to put together and is really nice looking ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Fast delivery. All I had to do was add water so setup was extra easy. You have to wait a minute or two for the pump to quit making noise. A few loose pieces from the inside had to be shaken out. They don’t seem to have been important as it is working just fine. The piece is not too big or too small.
