Grab four AAA batteries and keep your documents far away from the safe - don't lock them inside! Trust me; it's a headache you don't want to deal with. Follow the owner's manual, and you'll have this baby up and running in no time. My safe came with lag bolts for floor mounting, but keep in mind, that voids the water-resistant warranty. I'm not too concerned since I don't live in a flood-prone area. Inside, you'll find a lockbox that I absolutely adore. It helps keep things organized, and I've even ordered another one. The LED lights that illuminate the interior are fantastic, and you can program them to stay on for your preferred duration. The keypad is user-friendly, with an audible beep for each key press (you can turn it off). I've read a lot of reviews that said it was a good safe for the money, but arrived scratched, dented, etc. Some people complained about the locking mechanism, and so on. But for me personally, I consider myself lucky, I guess? My safe arrived in absolute perfect condition! No issues at all what so ever. For me, the locking mechanism works great. I can get in, and out of my safe within seconds. I don't know what else to say except that I love my safe, and I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. Excellent product!!! My older 10+yr Sentrysafe was just too small to handle my needs any longer so i started researching larger home safes. Found some decent high end commercial level safes but wasn’t ready to spend $$$. Best value looked like the Sentrysafe 2 cubic foot digital safe. I decided to order the SFW205GQC model. The fire and water protection, plus the overall security features made it a best buy for the money. Shipment was delayed a bit but it finally arrived. Shipping box looked beat up so I was worried about the condition of the safe. Unboxed and found two fairly significant dents. Like several other reviewers, it was quite disappointing to see the damage, but it was not significant enough to go through the headache of returning. The replacement prob would have had damage too. The damage didn't impede the operation of the safe; just cosmetic. Was confusing trying to get the safe opened initially. Instructions for first use were not very helpful. I installed batteries and entered the factory code multiple times but it wouldn't open (and of couse the secondary keys were inside the locked safe). I called customer service to see if they could help. I kept trying the factory code and it eventually opened. No idea why it took 6-8 attempts. Finally opened the safe and set up my personal code. No issues. Was surprised at the weight and inside space. Impressive! Well made safe. Need a handtruck/dolly to move it inside the house to its final location, but easily done, and the weight is a definite plus. Suggest putting some small felt pads on the bottom of the safe to avoid scratching your floor. Loved the provided file slider drawers. The inside light was a plus as well. I also purchased an extra thin sentrysafe drawer which fits perfectly between the two file drawers. The safe is opening as it should so not sure why the initial problem. All is well now. Sentrysafe and Amazon need to improve the packing and shipping process to reduce damage in shipment. Overall, very pleased with the new safe! Would give it 5 stars, but took one off for shipping damage. ... show more
