It's not fireproof or water proof that I can tell or read but it does the exact job I need it to. It's small enough to conceal and can be bolted to either wood or concrete or both. I got mine today and mounted to to both the concrete back and wood dresser it's installed under along with a few other small security addition I added. I normally don't review products this quickly because I haven't tried it long enough to know for sure, but in this case I already have it permanently mounted so unless there is a catastrophic failure my opinion will not change. I love the simplicity of it and it looks nice. It's the perfect size for my needs and I will get a fireproof and waterproof bag to put inside the safe to protect the few items that need it. Still cheaper then the next closest option. I am blown away with what I got for this price. It's not going to keep anyone determined enough out but most criminals are lazy and won't bother provided they get that far. ... show more

I wanted a place to store cash and I tried the cheaper little lock boxes but they were all so flimsy and easily picked open. I opted to spend a little more and I’m glad I got this safe. It’s not the most durable safe, but for the money it will deter most thieves if you have it bolted down. It would take a lot of effort to get into this safe when bolted down, but I wouldn’t trust it to just leave it out as it’s small enough that someone could simply take it and work on opening it later. For the price though, I really like it. It’s easy to operate and the keypad is very responsive. The beeping is a little annoying but it is what it is. It works every time without fail and quickly locks itself again after you access it. I check every time to make sure the door has locked when I’m done and it’s been very reliable. I bought it to use as a gun safe to keep my pistol away from children. I like the dual access and my pistol and clips fit just fine. It is not fireproof nor is it sealed. I had to add a rubber strip to the jamb to keep the door from wiggling. Other than that it does what I need it to do at a very reasonable price as it was discounted 55%. Thanks PYLE. ... show more

I Open the box there is no instructions key or anything just the safe. I found the manual on Google and it says to open the safe with the emergency key. How am I supposed to open the safe with no key??? I can’t use the keypad because I have to open The safe and put batteries in the keypad.

The overall build quality is ok, and it looks good if a bit cheap, but the materials are lackluster. First there is NO fireproof insulation in this safe. It is solely made of plastic and steel, and as a result has no certification for fireproofing. The safe walls are very thin, (~1.5mm including paint) not 2mm as advertised, the door is just under 3mm, again including the paint. At the least this is misleading. Normally the thickness measurements are on the bare metal. As a result the safe is vulnerable to prying attacks, or even a hack saw, or hammer could be used with minor effort, to expose the contents. As a result, it is very light, even for a safe this sized. It should be properly secured, using the bolt holes provided, on the back and bottom. If not it could be simply grabbed and easily opened later. The hinge is recessed but is very lightweight and with no bolts on the hinge side is vulnerable as well. The locking mechanism is standard for a safe in this price range and the backup key is adaquate. The handle is nice and large and is easy for an older person to use. In closing. If properly secured it should resist your standard smash and grab robbery but that’s about it. I bought this for my father-in-law to store his medications and a bit of cash in, and it is more than adaquate to discourage nosey houseguests from pilfering. For the price, it’s not bad, but I have bought better for around the same price point. ... show more
