It took 15 minutes to move into where i wanted the safe, put the shelf in, i had all my items i wished to store in the safe. Used the keys supplied to unlock the safe, added the batteries to the inside cover. than set up a primary code you can use 4 to 7 digits, after that it asked to set up the secondary code. Great for storing certain coins i collect, valuables, papers, like a Will title to the car, etc. Keep in mind i knew this safe was not really fireproof, but i purchased a fireproof bag to store the documents in and cash on hand. ... show more

I wanted height on my safe but wanted it to come with some weight. This is not heavy so I reordered a different one via Amazon thats heavy, great size and extra features. I have 4 of these and am pleased with their quality. They are not super-safes but as I said in the title, are fit for purpose. For me that purpose is ammunition storage. Once full, they are so heavy I don’t worry about someone walking out with them. I have them stacked 2X2. If I needed a safe for expensive items like jewelry or even cash, I’d probably step up a few levels to something more secure. Recently the batteries ran down on one of them and I used the key to open and replace them. It was very easy (once I figured out which key it was) and works as it is supposed to. This has been very simple and Hands-On to use. Soon as it came I was able to figure out there's the key actually there's two keys and you can put one to your keychain if you want or whatever and the other one you might want to hide somewhere I don't know and I like it a lot because it's extremely simple you close it you create your password if you want and then you can also close it with the key so it is really really cool thank you...
