I love the biometrics on it .. very sleek and fast to get into.. im guessing in and out in less then 15 secs or possibly 10 secs.. but the led light that is built in is a huge bonus.. i have another biometric safe and it does not have the led light and i have to use my ball cap light just to see what im grabbing and this led light gives you enough light to see on all shelves as well..Thick gauge steel and is very solid and a must have for the homeowner who has either guns/medicine/or just precious metals/and coin collections etc.. it has room for all of these things. and the shelves are interchangeable and have a carpet covering to dampen the sounds of putting your kilo bars of silver in it or a gun if need be..so if you had an intruder then he wouldnt hear you getting your gun out of the safe..lol,,, but this is the fastest kind of safe for quick draws or bugging out or to keep family collectibles,stocks and bonds or legal documents for quick access..like in my case i have custody of my daughter and i keep my custody order in there along with medical info and and highly important documents as well as passports ans visas.. The only thing that i see that is not good is the light duty plastic shelf and clips . just had a few broken clips for the shelves and some paint/powder coat scratched off from shipping but i am now waiting on the seller to send me some touch up paint and a few more clips.. they give you some for extras but i had to use most of them.. but after i get it touched up and and have spare clips for future moves..then i will say It was the best safe ive ever bought..lol so seller if you see my request please respond back so i can mount this thing already..lol waiting on the touch up paint and a few more shelf clips.. ... show more

I purchased this safe in December 2019 as a gift for my son who had recently moved out. I asked him about it the other day, and he said that it has served him greatly, and has had no issues. We particularly liked the size of the Viking, as well as the various security options it offers. I had purchased a safe for my daughter prior to this, and I wish it would have been the Viking VS-50BLX instead. Customer Service is also great! ... show more

This has been the perfect home use safe for me. I have owned it for 8 years now and felt compelled to come back and write a review because of how durable, reliable, and convenient it has been for me. The safe has a nice weight, texture, and a biometric fingerprint lock (and keypad number lock) that has not once given me problems. Also, I’ve changed the battery on the biometric lock one time in 8 years! Can’t recommend enough. Their customer service is excellent as well! ... show more

Overall this is a pretty good safe for basic consumer document storage - I wouldn’t trust the Crown Jewels to it, but it’s fine for its intended purpose. The things I like - solid construction, documents will fit in it, even if they’re in folders. The shelves are decent, the biometric lock is responsive, and it’s easy to setup. The one thing that torques me is that the stated dimensions does not account for the additional 1/2” that the control pad adds. The space I wanted to put this in was exact to the advertised depth in the product description. The control pad wrecked my grand plan, but the safe was good enough to keep and place elsewhere. ... show more

I purchased this safe in 2017, it is time tested and true! Rock solid safe, quality meets value. Secure, was able to easily bolt it to my floor Reliable biometric, works every time for easy and fast opening. Plenty of space to secure valuables and paperwork. Key pad function in addition to biometric is a nice touch offering additional flexibility to open the safe. Open door reminder is a great touch. Locking mechanism is sturdy and stable.     • I’m suing
My kid opened this safe by pushing the star and pound buttons. Did the programming the way instructions showed. Worked for a while but my child opened and grabbed a gun. Luckily the magazine wasn’t in because I just cleaned the pistol and hadn’t loaded it yet. I keep my pistols usually locked and loaded ready to go. I am so grateful I decided to clean my pistol and that my son didn’t shoot himself. That was the scariest thing I’ve experienced as a father. What a piece of crap this safe is. The instructions say that you can change the batteries and the settings will remain the same. NOT SO!!!! They work intermittently and when you go through the step by step setup after changing the batteries, the passcode does not work. The star and pound keys open the safe no matter what. This is an extremely Dangerous design. Luckily my lawyer says we have a case. Suing the pants off these people. Looks like others are having similar issues. Poor design and you get what you pay for. Cheap Chinese junk. Junk junk JUNK!!!! ... show more

First of all, this is a great safe. I have had it for 5 years and opened it almost every morning to take things out and every evening to put them back away. The fingerprint sensor works great and saves tons of time - I'd be likely to resist using it if I had to enter a code or take much time to open it. Bolted to the wall, it gives me a great sense of security. Also, the customer service by the company has been stellar. I recently had an issue (most likely caused by my error) and they responded to my emails promptly and made it easy to find a solution. I'm grateful that they have been able to help me even though I've had the safe so long. ... show more
