I purchased this safe in 2017, it is time tested and true! Rock solid safe, quality meets value. Secure, was able to easily bolt it to my floor Reliable biometric, works every time for easy and fast opening. Plenty of space to secure valuables and paperwork. Key pad function in addition to biometric is a nice touch offering additional flexibility to open the safe. Open door reminder is a great touch. Locking mechanism is sturdy and stable. Overall this is a pretty good safe for basic consumer document storage - I wouldn’t trust the Crown Jewels to it, but it’s fine for its intended purpose. The things I like - solid construction, documents will fit in it, even if they’re in folders. The shelves are decent, the biometric lock is responsive, and it’s easy to setup. The one thing that torques me is that the stated dimensions does not account for the additional 1/2” that the control pad adds. The space I wanted to put this in was exact to the advertised depth in the product description. Great sized safe that fits all of our important documents plus room for more. The biometric fingerprint reader is convenient and functions well. Customer support is also terrific - both with installation help/instructions as well as troubleshooting.

    • Great biometric safe with keypad/key entry. Fingerprint scanner works flawlessly if programmed correctly!
I purchased on 1/21/16 and shipped the next day. Received it within a week which is great for a heavy item like this. It arrived it great shape with no dents or scratches. I used the manual from the Viking website. The keys to get in work great. Programming the code for the buttons was easy. I had a hard time at first programming my fingerprint because I tried to just place my fingertip on the scanner. Once I put my fingertip all the way up in the sensor instead of just the fingertip I had no problem registering 4 fingerprints with multiple angles. That's the tip right there to register multiple angles for each fingertip. After that it has worked flawlessly and I am almost 50 years old. I really like the fact that I can get in the safe three different ways. Don't expect it to be thick like a bank vault but it is thick enough for your firearm or valuables. It would take hours to pry this thing open. The light and adjustable shelves are a great addition. The only thing I would add is a back lit keypad and this thing would be perfect. As long as it keeps working I consider this safe a steal for the price compared to the others I have looked at. The Biometric Store has great customer service as they answer questions promptly and even contacted me if I had any more questions or if I had any issues. I wish other companies cared about my satisfaction like The Biometric Store/Viking does! ... show more

    • I’m suing
My kid opened this safe by pushing the star and pound buttons. Did the programming the way instructions showed. Worked for a while but my child opened and grabbed a gun. Luckily the magazine wasn’t in because I just cleaned the pistol and hadn’t loaded it yet. I keep my pistols usually locked and loaded ready to go. I am so grateful I decided to clean my pistol and that my son didn’t shoot himself. That was the scariest thing I’ve experienced as a father. What a piece of crap this safe is. The instructions say that you can change the batteries and the settings will remain the same. NOT SO!!!! They work intermittently and when you go through the step by step setup after changing the batteries, the passcode does not work. The star and pound keys open the safe no matter what. This is an extremely Dangerous design. Luckily my lawyer says we have a case. Suing the pants off these people. Looks like others are having similar issues. Poor design and you get what you pay for. Cheap Chinese junk. Junk junk JUNK!!!! ... show more
