The HQ900 features an advanced Biometric Fingerprint Identification System that allows a registered user to quickly access the contents inside with the simple scan of their fingerprint. This is exactly what I was looking for and with Black Friday deal, it almost seems unfair. Everything works great. The fingerprint scanner works every time. I put in all my fingers and in three different angles. There hasn't been a flaw yet. I also wanted a keypad second option and obviously a key. Multiple securing points made it easy to secure to the wall. The accessories with it was more then comparable ones and love that the entire inside was lined to keep everything nice and scratch free. Pretty disappointing. The entire unit just feels cheap - I was hoping for a 'basic but solid' offering. But it is not well made. The door rattles back and forth when closed and even when locked. The door isn't a tight, flush fit. Moreover, the locking bolts that are in the door don't fully recess/retract when the handle is open and they hit the frame. So it doesn't smoothly close - you have to jiggle it or slam it to close. (Perhaps my unit is just out of alignment or something.) Inside the door, the plastic box that holds the batteries that power the fingerprint reader was cracked and the tab for closing it was bent. The tab where the cover clicks in was cracked and broken and immediately upon trying to close it the entire battery box cover broke off. I didn't even bother putting the batteries in it. Anyhow. An 82 lb. paperweight, I suppose. I would not recommend this product, nor would I buy it again. ... show more

This safe was the perfect size for the closet I wanted to put it in, and the safe itself is decently constructed. Not the greatest, but good for this price range and I couldn't fit anything more substantial. It's not my main safe holding my HD weapons. IF YOU WANT THIS AS YOUR MAIN HD SAFE KEEP LOOKING. The fingerprint reader and keypad are pretty bad. The reader takes a solid 2 seconds at least to read and unlock the safe. And thats only if it reads it right the first time. You could punch in a code just as fast or faster. The problem with punching in a code though, is that the buttons are tiny and too close together so it's easy to mess up. Especially if you're in a high stress situation. Not only that, the buttons don't register presses well. You really have to firmly push it to make sure it reads. Those two issues combined pretty much guarantee you'll mess up the code entry about 6-7 times out of 10. This safe suits my needs, hence 3 stars, but it won't for a lot of folks. I cant say anything bad about Barska, now delivery was another thing. You can tell the box has been thrown around. Theres a giant scratch on the side. Other than that the safe works great. A bit small in my opinion

I have zero issues with this safe. The idea is to create a biometric scan numerous times before use. Having the key and the number pad comes in handy. This is bolted to the studs were it’s located with lag bolts, which came with the safe. I would recommend a few larger washers for the inner side of the safe. I have no flaws like a few of the other reviewers stated. I added some puck led lights for direct light. The puck light are also from Amazon. Certainly happy with this Barska safe. If I wasn’t it would have been back already. I test it weekly to make sure it remains accessible when needed. ... show more

Product came damaged, either during delivery or before. The safe is very heavy and likely got dropped or improperly handled during delivery. Packaging was also damaged. Not returning or replacing because of how much of a hassle it was to move this product. Just something to consider when buying...
