the item arrived in 9 days within their guidelines but longer then we had wanted but can't really complain as shipping was free. The box was in pretty good shape and the company spares no expense in packing material. Prepare for a mess getting out of the box have a can of endust near by will help with the static cling of the packing material. Assembly wasn't all that bad with the exception (as I read in many posts) of to many areas that were non-drilled. My wife and 14 year old were able to assemble in about 3 hours, they couldn't finish the doors as the holes were not predrilled and you need a small screw driver to get inside due to the size of the screws and lack of area to work in inside the corners. The mantel did not have pre drilled holes on the corners either. The unit came with 2 noticable scratches on the front looks like from rubbing the packing material during shipping not worth packing up and sending back though I doubt you could get it back in the box even if you wanted to. Was disappointed in the color as was much darker then the picture. Nice looking if you want the darker wood color. Even though we had the measurements unit much smaller then we had thought. The area for your equipment is small but workable if you stack your componets, we have a dish dvr and dvd player, can't fit anything else in there. We have a 42 inch TV and fits just about right wouldn't go much bigger. Not impressed with the heater either the best thing is, that it is quiet, but am guessing that is because of the low out put and no settings except on. wish it had more settings, or a high setting for quick heat like most all the units I look at prior to purchasing this one. My fault on that looked at so many units before buying that I assumed heater would be the same as most everyone else with at least 2 or 3 settings plus a quick heat option on intial turn on for quick heat. We put this unit in our living room and does not really warm room. Had it on for 4 hours 1st day and could never get temp in room over 72 degrees. which isn't bad except when temp outside is in low teens. The room its in is well under the 1500 square ft. with 8' ceilings (typical spilt level house) it claims to heat. The fire palce is nice seveal adjustments on flame size and lighting. For a electrical fire box it does actually look nice compared to some models we viewed before making this pruchase. The only reason we even purchased this unit was the size. We have a small living room and needed a corner unit. All other corner units we looked at were either to wide or to high. We replaced a corner entertainment center that was much bigger but the TV sat a little lower, rasining it up that additional foot now causes a glaring problem that we will just have to deal with. That said, the reason I gave this a 3 star was an average of everything 1. it fits perfectly in the corner (5 star). 2. heat source and controls (1 star), 3. looks of the unit (minus the scratches) (3 star) (I gave this a 3 because of scracthes and color is darker then advertized yours may differ), 4. fire box (4 star), 5. assembly (1 star), 6. delevery (3 star) 7. extended warranty and price (4 star) for now since we haven't need to use it yet as unit is only 1 day old. We haven't installed the corner piece yet either as it too has no predrilled holes and will take some additional time to make sure it is correctly put together. We purchased here due to price was less for same unit listed on most all other sites and plus they offered an 5 year warranty somthing I didn't see on the other sites. All in all not a bad unit I guess you do really get what you pay for. Could have spent a little more money and bought local, but just couldn't find the size that fit right. There are better units out there but be willing to pay a few hundred more. I would not recommend this to anyone that was looking for an additonal heat source, or has a tv bigger then 42" and more then two componets. I would recommend if like us space is a factor, you need a corner unit, don't really need the heater and just want an electric fire place. Hope this help. ... show more

Purchased this in ivory color. It’s more white, not creamy at all, with some odd dirty gray distressed coloring on the edges. You can see faux brush strokes in the paint, in an attempt to make it look more vintage, maybe? Just a truly cheap attempt to make it look distressed. Stickers to cover the cam locks. Bottom is poplar, front top trim is poplar, but the rest is MDF. Seams in the doors and on the base and top, don’t butt together, big gaps wherever it is pieced together. It is sturdy once together, but I will always know how low quality it is. The first one the base was cracked, product support did a fabulous job of replacing and having the defective one picked up. Because I liked the style so much for my small French country living room, I kept it, and my husband is currently repainting in a true creamy ivory. Crazy right. I saw this (same company) for almost twice as much on some furniture store sites, I bet the people that pay $650 -$750 for this are going to be pretty upset (the most expensive versions have the touch screen or smart fireplace).. the unit itself will still be pretty cheaply made. I really wanted to love this, but I am very disappointed in the materials and construction. ... show more

Look... You should have known what you were getting when you looked here to find a fireplace. It's not furniture store quality by any means. If you've had one of those and you look at this, you'll more than likely be sad. If you are newly married, first apartment/home, looking for something to add a little something-something to the room, then this will do that. Just remember, you get what you pay for. Save a couple hundred more and go to the store to get a nicer one if you want to really impress. If you're just looking to add some light and heat up a room... this will definitely do that. This was pretty easy to assemble with the help of my sister. One of the front side panels was slightly dinged when I got it. Called the company’s customer service number and they immediately sent out a replacement piece, which was slightly off color so I used the original dinged piece but unless I get right up to it and look for it, I can’t see it. It adds a nice ambiance to my living room and the heat is an additional plus. ... show more
