I usually dye my hair a ruby tone dark red. This is the first time I tried a gingery dark red, doesn’t really suit my olive tone but still very pretty. My roots were virgin and black, which understandably didn’t take much of the dye; the rest of my hair was bleached to probably level 6/7 and it pops out great. I like the conditioner too. I’ve used this dye for years, love it so much. One of the very few dyes that doesn’t kill my hair. Lasts so long and barely washes out after the second shower. I can walk in the rain within a few days if dying and won’t have to worry about a transfer to my clothes!!

I purchased Amethyst Black. I have naturally dark brown hair with a bit of ashy gray roots. The majority of my hair looked amazing with the punch of violet, but it gave me hot roots that I had to darken with a separate demi-permanent color kit (I used Root TouchUp in Soft Black). It made ALL the difference and my color looked shiny and amazing for about a month before it started to fade. I heat style often & didn't use a color safe shampoo, so the lack of longevity was more on me than the product, but I would guess you could get a solid 6-8 weeks out of this before needing a touch up. Very strong smell unlike any of the other dyes I’ve used. Next time I’ll wear a mask when applying. Also, it will take 2-3 boxes of this dye to saturate your entire head if you have mid-length to long hair. One box just isn’t enough.
