Description

Templar armor is sought after for its functional design. The steel is 18 gauge thick and folded double over. The forged, contoured shape deflects impact away from the armorer. Trim edges around the armor increase the strength of the unit. This Templar Gorget fits all size adults. Leather straps are adjustable, soft, and comfortable. The exterior of the steel is oiled to preserve the surface finish. Inside the gorget is finished black. Functional and protects the neck area.

This is my first gorget so I can't say how historically accurate it is, but I can say I like it. Seems well made to me. The leather straps are a little long but that can be modified however I want. Two of the straps are upside down too but maybe its suppose to be like that for the pauldrons, I'm not sure. It feels fine over my gambeson and I think it will stop a sword no problem. A hammer or axe might bend it up but I think it will work just fine. ... show more

The straps that connect the pauldrons are different. One is thicker than the other so its a pain to put on

    • You get what you pay for
This item is relatively cheap, but it is as promised. It is a gorget without an upper neck piece that is fitted to go with other pieces of armor, if that is not your purpose this is a great item. I had to modify it to meet my needs, but I fully expected to. I would not consider this item for use in an active armor set as it will not take much of a beating. With proper care it is a great costume piece, which I hope to get years of use from. ... show more

    • Complete Garbage, not worth a dime.
Complete garbage. Product is not cut in such a way that it can properly be worn. Edges do not match up correctly, making it a massive safety hazard. Straps and buckles are NOT AS SHOWN and do not actually buckle. Not worth a dime, even for a costume.

Seeing as how Bobdole is a sheetmetal Mechanic I read the other reviews that said needed work. And I won't lie to you like Clinton did when he beat me in the 90s. It does need to be bent in order to sit on your chest with out poking you. But don't worry you don't need any tools just that big fat foot of yours. Step on it gently till you feel it give a little and try it on again. Repeat till satisfied. Follow my program and I guarantee you won't be let down or my name isnt Bobdole ... show more

When I recieved the gorget and pulled it out of the package the 2 pieces that rest on the shoulders seemed to have been bent to fit inside the package and when worn dug right into my shoulders. On the tightest setting there was almost a 2 inch gap between the 2 metal pieces resting on the shoulders. The gorget is loose and a hazard of hurting yourself of you do anything due to the metal not overlapping properly risking getting your neck cut. Working at a renaissance festival I thought this would be a great addition to my costume, but I was mistaken. Cheap price is the only good thing about it and even then its not worth the money. If you make this purchase I hope you know how to modify it and work with metal to fix it, you'll be doing a lot of work. ... show more

    • Nice looking,but with a serious flaw.
Item looks nice, but the edges are sharp and need to be angled back just a bit to avoid scratching your skin. Other than this irritating flaw, it looks great.
