  • Fantastic Pan
I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this Scanpan. We love it. We don't make crepes very often, but use it for eggs, grilled sandwiches etc. I plan to buy another, larger Scanpan skillet.

  • Pan to Use Everyday.
I bought this pan for my sister because I love it so much. I have had mine for at least 9 years. I use it at least once a day (I lightly brown a tortilla and then add peanut butter - have to have the protein for a med I take) but more often several times a day. This pan sits on my stove it is used so often - no sense in putting it away and then having to retrieve it later in the day. Last year I thought I was going to have to replace it as food seemed to be sticking which hadn’t happened before. I went on line and found the recipe to clean the pan. When I was done it looked like new and no food was sticking. A year later it still looks like new. The sticking had nothing to do with the pan coating properties. I think if you invest in this pan, you won’t regret it! ... show more

  • Simply Outstanding
In addition to having an environmentally-friendly nonstick surface, this pan is oven safe to 500F, and apparently has a fairly durable cooking surface, as well. To welcome my daughter home from a high school trip to Europe on which she enjoyed many crepes, I purchased this pan, a pack of spreaders, an olive wood spatula, and a six-pack of natural crepe mix. (Having never made crepes before, I wanted to make my task an easy one.) I am an experienced and creative cook, and I value fine cookware and useful utensils. The spreaders that I bought didn't work nearly as well as I wanted them to. Perhaps more practice is required. However, I was able to make GORGEOUS crepes, just by tilting the pan. I found the perfect flame setting on the stove, and made a very enjoyable first-ever batch of crepes. My daughter was also successful when she tried her hand at it. My olive wood spatula has not yet arrived, so I used a KitchenAid flexible silicone spatula to lift these crepes. It worked quite well. Overall, the pan was sensational. I seasoned it with a bit of Canola oil before making the first 2-3 crepes. After that, once I'd found the perfect temperature, I did not put any more oil into the pan. I am delighted with my purchase, and would recommend this pan to anyone who wishes to have hassle-free success making crepes - even for the first time! Enjoy! • Little on the expensive side but a quality pan.
While a little high priced, I really like this pan. I bought this pan 10 months ago and have used it almost weekly (Saturday morning Swedish pancake ritual) and it still looks and works like new. Admittedly, I baby this pan. It has never seen the dishwasher and is usually just wiped clean after cooking or hand washed if needed. The instructions say not to use cooking spray but I typically give it a light coat of PAM before doing eggs and haven't seen any ill effects. While this was being delivered, my wife bought a cheap ($15) ceramic coated pan with the same overall dimensions as the Scanpan. The cheap pan is very comparable in it's non-stick capabilities for things like Swedish pancakes but butter sautéed mushrooms or onions stick to the cheap pan where as the Scanpan cleans up nicely. Also the added weight of the Scanpan means that it stays put and flat on the burners better. Being a very frugal person it was hard for me to spend the $75 I paid for the Scanpan but it is a quality pan that performs well and I'm hoping will continue to do so for years to come. ... show more

  • Oh boy….
Best non-stick I’ve come about. Been cooking for 57 years… love this pan!!!!

  • Scanpans are #1 in my book!
I had read reviews on Scanpans so I finally bought one and tried it. These pans are just amazing. You can cook anything in them and then just wipe them out with a paper towel and they are clean. If something really sticks (for instance if you forget something and it really burns) you can use Barkeepers Friend on it and it will be fine. I'm in Culinary School and we did crepes on lab and loved them so I bought this pan for home use. This past Easter Sunday I used it to make crepes with strawberries and blackberries. I did easily a dozen crepes, not one stuck at all and when finished I wiped it out with a paper towel and it looked new again. Another great thing about Scanpans is that they come with a lifetime warranty. If anything ever goes bad with the pan you simply send it back to the factory and they mail you another one! This crepe pan has the "Classic" handle which is a plastic material but it can withstand temps to 500 degrees so it can even go in the oven but my other Scanpans are the "Professional" line which have stainless steel handles. Same great titanium/ceramic hybrid interior but just nicer looking handles. I have not tried the CTX line as of yet. ... show more

  • brittle handle
This would have been a five star review two hours ago, but after two years of service and countless crepes, with many more years of potential use, it hit the tile floor at exactly the wrong angle, shattering the handle into five pieces Their warranty doesn't cover accidents, which should not be not a big deal, because if replacing the handle were as simple as it is on, say, a five dollar farberware pot, I could just unscrew the broken handle and screw in a beautiful wooden handle of my own design. However, they fuse the handle to the pan, and there is no easy way to replace a broken handle. Very annoying, because the pan itself is still great, and if I could find a use for the old pan, I'd just buy a new one, but I can't give it to goodwill (they will just think its a broken and worthless pan), so rather than waste it, I am stuck with a broken pan. I love the pan, but I wish they had designed it a bit better (at least give people like me an easy avenue for replacing the handle), and I may come to slowly hate it, as I am constantly confronted with evidence of my clumsiness. So, if Scanpan is reading this, please redesign your pan with a replaceable handle; if someone else is reading this, this pan will produce great crepes, but do be extremely careful -- the pan might last for ever, but the handle has design and engineering flaws. ... show more
