If you’re going to use it for a sliding glass door, just make sure that you measure how wide your door is. Our door happened to be a little bit wider than it is capable of. It still works great for at hotels to brace the door where you want extra door security.

This thing is very hefty and seems like it’ll do it’s job. My door was kind of small so I had to do it on the shortest hole and had to swap how I put it in there. I just hope it’ll still work that way. The pictures in the ad showed it with the square part away from the door.

I never planned to write a review for this product— in fact I purchased it over a year ago. Well, my family is so thankful we decided to purchase this security bar for our sliding glass door. Last night, a man jumped our backyard fence and attempted to gain entry to our home through the sliding door. Since we live in a rural area, it took the sheriff nearly 30 minutes to arrive. 20 of those minutes the man was attempting to break through the sliding door. The bar did not shift at all thanks to the rubber grip on the end, and I fully believe if this bar had not been holding the door shut he would have gotten into the house and may not even be here to write this review… I will forever be thankful we had this bar and that it held up to a large man. ... show more
