  • Works great!
These hedge trimmers cut the time I topically spend on my yard in half. They cut branches a little bigger than my old trimmer and easily allowed me to direct the clippings were I wanted them to go, so I did not have to stop and use a saw on many of the branches and I was able to direct almost all the clippings to the tarp I placed beside each bush. It was so much easier than usual. ... show more

  • So much better than "corded" clippers and lighter than gas powered!
Incredible cutting power. Dense boxwood that had branches up to 3/8" thick was cut like butter. With the smaller battery Ryobi One makes it is very light and easy to control.

  • Ryobi Got It Right!!
I don’t often do reviews but this product is exceptional. Congrats to Ryobi for getting it right. Why I like it. 1) it has the power needed to do the work. It cuts 1/2 inch stems with ease. I did 20 large bushes on one charge and some charge left over. 2) the handle rotates and locks making up/down (90 degrees), 45 degrees, and horizontal trimming a breeze. 90 degree and 45 degree is available in both directions (even better). 3) it takes pressing two buttons to start it but once started you can let one button go. This really helps reduce hand fatigue. 4) it is long enough to cruise through most bushes in one pass. 5) it is well balanced which also reduces fatigue. VERY PLEASED. WELL DONE!!! ... show more

  • Good residential hedge cutter for the money.
Capable hedge clipper for residential use. Item is light weight and cuts easily. Only negative is there is no switch to keep cutter on continuously. You need to hold witch down continuously while using. Battery life is good. However, having several other Ryobi appliances, I use multiple batteries when cutting. ... show more

  • Makes Trimming hedges easy!
I was using a corded trimmer. Nothing wrong with it other than having to drag around a 100' extension cord that my accidentally cut. So, I decided to see what my options were. This 18v trimmer did a fine job of trimming our shrubs, I used it with my 6ah battery that did all of bushes in landscaping on one charge. Trimmer worked fine, saved time and made it easy to use because there wasn't an extension cord. I have several of the One+ tools and compatible batteries so this was just a natural expansion of my tool set. I especially appreciated the plastic guard that protects the trimming edge, and the convenient notch where the battery goes in the timmer that allows you to hang the trimmer from a nail/screw. (I wish the leaf blower and string trimmers had that feature) I would strongly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a hedge trimmer. ... show more

  • It’s Ryobi. Enough said!
I have owned the hedge trimmer about 3 months but have used it only a few times since winter is not hedge trimming season in middle Georgia. However, I believe it will be a good investment for me as spring comes in a few months. I like the adjustable handle, the adequacy of the length of the blade, and the overall features such as the protective storage sheath and.the safety mechanism that requires a run button to be pushed as well as a trigger when operating this tool . It is a hefty machine that some have identified as heavy. I ‘m 79 and admit that it’s not a lightweight tool, but if you are physically fit it shouldn’t be a problem. So it’s time to “cut the cord” which I literally did once when I was using a corded hedge trimmer. I’m pleased to add this trimmer to my Ryobi tool collection. The only downside is that Ryobi 18 Volt batteries aren’t cheap. Be safe and enjoy this tool! ... show more

  • Hedge trimmer
I love it. I have a big long back yard and it was a real pain to stretch out a 100’ cord to trim my hedges. Problem solved now. It works great. One problem I found was a rattle in the motor casing. It sounds like a bolt that came loose or maybe a chip of plastic. Hope it won’t effect the motor. If I have a problem with it, I don’t know how to send it back. Info needed. Thank you. ... show more

  • Awesome!
I have to admit I'm an equipment abuser. I repurpose and push my tools quite often beyond their normal limits. These hedge cutters are a case in point. I have a very long driveway (2/3rds of a mile) which is a single lane up a hill (where I am hills are all there are!). Brush and small trees overgrow the road such that they have to be cut back to avoid scratching and damaging any traffic. I am sure the UPS delivery van dreads a visit. I tackled this problem a few days ago. The hedge cutter performed magnificently, cutting through branches and small trees that would fit the cutters with ease. I have used the cutter to cut high grass where I could not run a mower. I have yet to trim our poodle, but I'm thinking of it! It's a great trimmer. It will cut up to a 3/4 inch branch, the small Ryobi battery lasts for a about 30 minutes even if you hang on the trigger. I have not found the guard to be of much use and have only used the rotating handle in dire situations but this unit is well worth the buy. ... show more
