It's a decent first step for feeders. The waterer pan is narrow enough where chicks won't drown but the water gets dirty very quickly, although that's the nature of chicks too. They kick the bedding in and it absorbs and blocks the water from refilling so you have to clean it out throughout the day.

Love the water stand. Works great. The food dispenser works well but only complaint is once you fill up the jug and attach it to the base, half the jug empties into the base so it doesn’t give you much time between requiring the next fill. Still love the product. It works.

This is great and better compared to feeders without legs as you can fold the legs to have the feeder very low to the ground for baby chicks. As they grow older, you can raise the feeder by extending the legs so they don’t get the food as dirty with any dirt or grass.

I bought it to use for quail. The waterer is great. The legs keep it high enough so they don’t poop in it and don’t get many shavings into it either. The feeder didn’t work for us. They manage to dump most of it out in a matter of hours so I’m going to try the j feeder with wire insert next.

Surprisingly difficult to find this size feeder and waterer. The larger ones are just too big for baby chicks and take up too much space in the box/brooder. Having the adjustable legs on the waterer is genius. We used to get our waterer all clogged up with pine shavings and being able to raise it off the ground has largely solved that problem. ... show more
