    • Keeps on killing

This is my 3rd year having to use these. The ants seem to love the house during heat waves. First year battled ants for a month than put these down. 2nd year figured I needed them after a week and a half. This year at first sight put a bunch down. They do take a week or two to stop the ants. Also needed a lot of them, primarily in kitchen as we have an old house with many doors. All years the smaller ants were the first to disappear than the bigger ones. This year first small who disappeared than the bigger ones. Also had to put cat food bowls in bigger bowls with water. Each year once the ants stopped, did not return until next year. I did not keep them down year round. I think they are safe to use putting behind stove or under overhang from floor cabinets or dishwasher. Also put some on my counters but back in out of the way places. My cats don't seem to be interested in them. If you have multiple ways for ants to get in, you will need multiples of these, but they work. ... show more

I've used this product for years. It does keep black ants away--once I put down the traps, black ants disappear in about a week. However, it does not seem to kill little brown ants. I find that spraying a product like Simple Green (for two to three days) in the areas where the brown ants have appeared causes them to disappear. ... show more

    • Totally Eliminates Tiny Ant Army

Every spring I get these little tiny ants that can crawl in the very small space under my door. I just bought more for this year. Last spring I got them and put some right near the door where they come in and it took care of the ants in short order. It had more than I needed so I put some in the garage near the other door where I think they can get in. It took care of all the ants in the garage for the entire year. I decided to start with fresh ones this spring and not wait for the infestation to start. I hate using pesticides and live and let live with outside insects but once they enter my home, all bets are off!     • For very small sugar ants, it may or may not be working

The traps are well designed, and easy to use. Easy to place in inconspicuous locations to they don't get in your way. We had a small infestation of very small "sugar" ants, which defied a couple of attempts to eradicate, so I tried these. At first, I didn't see any ants take any bait. They were so small it would have been difficult for them to climb into the trap, even though the plastic base was quite thin and should have been scalable to reach the trap entrance. After a week of not seeing any results, I cut one open and extracted some of the bait and spread it along some of the paths the ants typically took. Again, I didn't see that they were attracted to the bait, or trying to eat any of it. I finally took some of the bait and smeared it into a couple of the "openings" where I saw ants coming from, sealing them up. Haven't seen any after about a month now, but I don't know if they finally took bait back to the "nest" which eliminated the colony or if sealing up a few cracks did the trick. I suspect this might work for larger varieties, that could climb into the trap and actually pull of pieces of the bait better than these tiny ones. ... show more

    • These did not work at all!

I have been battling tiny house ants all summer using everything sprays, powders ect and even keeping things Extremely clean and sweet things put away in airtight containers. No matter my efforts they returned day in and day out. I was so excited to get these traps. I followed the instructions and used them at the point of entry and also behind and under counters, cabinets and window where the ants were at... Still after 2 days no results. I decided to put one right in the path of the ants. They just went in one hole and out the other without picking up any bait. I was over it so I returned these bait traps. I did however buy the Raid brand again but the GEL this time and it came in a syringe so I was able to dab little places where I knew they would get into it. Way less effort and way less product. It was instantaneous and I haven't seen not even one yet since then. These traps are useless. Go for the GEL instead. ... show more

When I noticed a few ants on the kitchen counter, I knew it was time for war. A few of these traps spread around corners of the kitchen quickly did the trick. I couldn't smell anything, I couldn't see any evidence, but they worked magic anyway. And boom, you just pick them up and throw them away.
