Just set this up today. Very minimal and nice. In the dark the time is easy to see, but not a bright annoying light, plus you can dim all the way to no light at all. I was suprised at the volume and clarity of the radio. It's antenna is a long wire that you can easily tape or use a push pin on the wall to get a good signal. Plus when you have it set up you hold the radio button and it scans for the stations and sets them to presets. I had over 30 stations coming in clearly. The alarms are loud and clear and I think you can set the alarm clock to be the radio as well. Overall it's a great alarm clock and I would definitely buy again. ... show more

I am a very sound and deaf sleeper so have slept through many alarms. This alarm clock is smaller than most, has easily visible numbers, and the alarm is amazing. It may sound crazy, but waking to bird song just puts a smile on my face every time! That's saying a lot because I am not a morning person. The only reason I did not give it five stars is the trouble I sometimes have finding the right button to silence the alarm. The buttons are small and not raised to be able to feel them. They are indented a little so I think I will eventually get used to it. The radio has good sound quality, too. I like the fact that this little clock is so easy to set and use. It has multiple color night light and birds singing to wake me up plus the numerals on the clock have a control on the back to turn the brightness up and down. The volume has a terrific range from quiet to loud so I can set it so as not to bother anyone in the next room but still so I can hear it and drown out noisy traffic outside. AND there are little bumps on the button that turns the light off and on so it can be felt in the dark which is a great idea. All in all this is the best little nightstand clock I have ever purchased. Very happy with it and I would buy it again if I needed to. AND it has a wire for an antennae that I just string into my lamp. I know not everyone would be happy with this clock but I bet most people would be. ... show more

My 8-year-old son needed a new clock radio for his room - trying to replace an older Phillips iPod dock clock with really good sound. I'm really impressed with several features of this clock radio. 1) Sound - it advertises a higher power rating/wattage than many others like it online and it performs well - treble is clear and this little guy has decent bass - enough sound to fill a bedroom. 2) Features - night light is an unexpected plus (multiple colors to choose from by clicking the button; easy buttons to turn on radio, alarm, light, and turn off delay; alarm options are good (my son loves the chirping birds) 3) General look - it's a clean looking clock on his nightstand One downside - the icons on the front can be difficult to recognize at first through the screen exterior. Conclusion - if I didn't use my iPhone to wake me up in the morning, I would probably buy one for my bedroom. For my son, I didn't need an AUX cord or bluetooth connection - so, this clock-radio is a perfect fit. This little clock radio has a very nice, modern look to it; however, the one I received unfortunately had very bad sound quality on the radio which is why I purchased it so I ended up returning it. It does have a loose wire antenna which I tried adjusting in every possible way I could think of, including taping and clipping it up and moving the clock closer to a window, but it still had a lot of static sound (as a note, the radio I replaced it with did not have this issue). I did really like how much you could adjust the brightness of the display. It's possible I just received a bad radio and that others work just fine. If you don't need the radio and are looking more for the clock and alarm features, this may work very well for you. ... show more

    • Great for light sensitive sleepers

I hate the way most clocks keep your room lit at night. There are all sorts of studies saying that sleeping in a dark room is much better for you. The light really disturbs my sleep! This clock works well for dark rooms for two reasons. First, it fully dims, but can be turned very bright for the day. Second, it has an unusual quality to the display. There is no extraneous glow. The numbers are white and very clear but it just doesn’t glow. I also find the controls to be pretty intuitive. I quickly reviewed the instructions and have not needed to refer to them. The sound is great for a very small speaker (meaning the station comes in loud and clear). It’s not going to take the place of a good quality speaker, but it’s acceptable quality for very casual listening. As another reviewer pointed out, it sets its stations, so if you like a station at the far end of the numbers, it might not make the preset. Luckily I listen at the low numbers so it’s not a problem with me. Finally, this clock has a small profile. It’s less than 4” across, with the numbers about 1” high. I’m enjoying this clock radio and would recommend it to friends. ... show more
