This sunrise clock is an upgraded version of the Jall sunrise alarm clock. It works and functions very similarly but with some noted improvements. - It still has all of the original sounds, plus some new ones, to wake or fall asleep to (with the option to use the radio or no sound at all). - You can now manually set the radio station instead of scrolling through presets. - It now has a multicolor light mode as an option for lighting or falling asleep to. - It has two programmable alarms that can be set for either Monday - Friday, Monday - Sunday, or Saturday - Sunday that will remain on without the need to manually turn them on each day. - It has an "unlimited snooze" feature that gives you nine extra minutes of sleep each time you snooze it, without a limit to how many times that is. No more "three snoozes and then reset for the next day". My wife and I also have a Lumie Bodyclock Shine 300 sunrise clock that costs around $160, and for the price, I like this one more. It seems to be louder than the Lumie (if you need the sound) and is easier to set. It also has a feature where you can, with a single button press, turn the light on to use as a lamp. Where the Lumie can also be used as a lamp, you’re required to ramp the light up from zero and all the way back down by holding a button in for a few seconds. Where that may not be an issue for most people, I just like the convenience of pressing a button and having the light turn on immediately. My old alarm clock annoyed me in multiple ways. First, the digital display was too bright at night, even on the lowest setting. I used to keep a t-shirt on top of it to darken my room at night. Second, the sound quality was terrible (which was to be expected, it was a cheap alarm clock). Third, when I wake up extremely early in the morning, I would have to get out of bed and feel my way around my room over to my alarm clock to turn it off, hoping I wouldn't stub my toe or walk into a dresser corner as my room is nearly pitch black. This alarm clock has solved all of these problems. I keep the number display turned off, so my room is completely dark at night how I like it. The sound quality is much improved over my old alarm clock. Is it a Bose speaker? No, but at this awesome price point, I'm very happy with the sound quality for the money. I LOVE the light in the morning as it allows me to see in my room when I get out of bed, and it also helps me start to wake up a bit too. I also love that you can adjust the amount of time that the light turns on before the alarm sound starts. Personally ten minutes is fine for me, but I like that you can go all the way to an hour. I would note that the light will start that many minutes before the alarm time you set. So if you set your alarm for 6am with an hour long light cycle, the light will turn on red at 5am and the alarm sound will play at 6am when the light is at full brightness. Personally, I am using the radio as my wake-up sound because I like that it's different every day. Plenty of stations to choose from as well. I also am liking the mood lighting feature. The color display is very cool and I like how many different color settings there are, and you can switch between solid colors or the ones that blend different colors together and change constantly. Very cool feature that I have been using. I haven't used the sleep feature as of yet as I usually just listen to podcasts on headphones to go to sleep, but I may in the future. I have had this for six months now. At first, I was highly disappointed because I expected this to make a drastic difference in waking up, but it doesn’t. However, after some time, I do think this has helped long-term with my sleep rhythm. Pros - Helps with long-term sleep rhythm - Is more affordable than other brands - Keeps the time and your settings if unplugged - Turns off automatically after 30 min or so - Dimmable time - can program 2 different routines Cons - Sounds are super annoying, but you can turn these off & only use the light - The buttons aren’t easy to read - There’s not a clearly labeled off button. Since I don’t use the sound and the light will turn off automatically after 30 minutes or so, I never have to manually shut it off unless I forget to turn it off before a holiday/day off. When this happens, I can never remember how to turn it off and get frustrated and end up unplugging. A clearly marked off button would be nice, but since it keeps my time/alarm settings, it’s not a deal breaker. ... show more

This is a beautiful clock. I love the snippet of Pachelbel's Canon that you can choose to wake up to, and the birdsong that is another option (I use both, for two different alarms). The light is very bright, like bright sunlight, and not headache-inducing. I chose this model instead of the newer one because I like the full display better than the one where part of it is cut out to show the time. I found the controls fairly intuitive as long as I paid attention to the instructions. I only wish that the wake-up sound and light would continue until I turn them off, because I am evidently a **very** heavy sleeper. For comparison, I had a Ph*ll*ps HF3500 several years ago and I like this clock better. **UPDATE** It inexplicably stopped working one day, so I went to the maker's site and opened a support ticket. The very next day I got an email offering to send me a new clock for free. It arrived within a few days, works perfectly, and they didn't even ask me to send the defective one back. EXCELLENT customer service as well as an excellent product!! ... show more

This is a great alarm clock! The light and birdsong is a gentle way to start the day compared to any phone alarm sound or typical alarm clock. It was wasy to set up. I love that it doubles as a cool mood light. Battery back-up worked great through the power failure we had last week. Great product.
