Description

A blue/violet base for achieving platinum on pre-lightened blonde hair in 5 minutes or less. Tones the hair and provides a conditioning shine, increases elasticity, restores moisture and provides a barrier to help protect the hair from environmental damage. Vegan and cruelty-free. Directions: Mix 1 part color to 2 parts developer (1:2) in a non-metallic bowl using either 6 or 10 volume developer. Apply to dry or damp hair. Works in 5 minutes or less. For deeper pigment leave in the hair for up to 20 minutes. Shampoo mixture out of the hair. Condition, dry and style hair, or apply color on top.

My stylist started using this on my hair a year and a half ago and I’ve been using it ever since. One time I went to the salon and they were out of it. So she didn’t tone my hair at all, just lifted it with highlights. I found it on here and decided to try it myself. It was perfect!. The trick is, if you have highlighted hair and don’t want to lighten your base color, work very quickly. Get it on your hair and off of your hair in five minutes or less. It always works like a charm. This last time I did it I did not have the PULP RIOT developer. I used vol 6 Sally beauty supply brand . I’m not sure it made a difference, however, if I do it again, I’m going to use matching brands! Highly recommend! ... show more

I want to start off by saying go to a professional, but it will never beat the experience you gain from it! Pulp riot recommends you use their branded developer, but if you have a 10 volume developer laying around or if you’re going to snag one off of Amazon the same day it comes all power to you! It works wonders with and without pulps developer. It turned it looking beautiful, this toner is amazing if you’ve had trouble in the past with other toners. I used to swear by T-18 until I started having issues with the tone coming out either splotchy, uneven, or overtoned. This toner not only goes on and starts the process quickly but also leaves some wiggle room if you are not for sure if you got the tone you desired. I mixed 1:1 / 1:1/2 and it was perfect for me I love my lightener very clay like while using powder. I do have to beware you depending on your tone of your hair you might want to snag a different pulp riot toner! I bleached my hair almost to fully white and then dyed it blue and then stripped it out. It turned oout not totally white but white with a hint of silver. Nothing like pulp riots silver though, if you see a lot of orange in your hair try rebleaching or use one of pulp roots more viable shades for that range. I did have a little extra left so I did end up slapping it on my boyfriend and his orange/yellow hair neutralized but wasn’t even close to a white shade. (He didn’t want to rebleach it again so I wanted to see what it would do). Overall I believe this toner is better then EQ shades in my opinion but buy it yourself and test it yourself! This is the 2nd toner I have tried from the pulp riot line (ordered from Amazon). Hair is Medium/dark brown. Just needs some brass knocked out every once in a while. The box will tell you it’s not suitable for darker shades of hair but it is still effective to cancel unwanted tones (even if you are not blonde). Pulp riot ash toner - was very effective on red. Did not make hair darker. Just toned. The icy had the same effect (good on yellow/red/helped pull through some lighter areas previously highlighted) but did seem to deposit gray/purple in some areas. It is tolerable/will probably wash out. It is not extreme. Use 10 volume for every toning session. Always happy with results this way, helps maintain and keep hair healthy. ... show more

I needed to write a review to share what I experienced so maybe it will help others. I have something of a patchwork quilt going on with my hair color. I am greying, with some coming in a beautiful platinum color (I wish it were all that color), and the rest is a lovely blonde shade. Individually the colors look fine, but together it looks ridiculous because the platinum growing in along with the silver growing in makes the blonde look yellow and gross. So I ordered this to try to "ice" the yellow and tone it down. My expectation was that it would tone the blonde to match the platinum (or was that my hope?). Ok it was both my hope and my expectation. What happened though is that it actually matches the silver gray now, but the blonde also now looks like it has blondish-brown trying to show. (weird) For the photos, the blonde images are "before" but only the lower section of my hair. (what it was below the orange line I drew in the one image) In that image with the drawing, the "after"- the crown of my head circled in purple is the actual silver-gray that naturally grows in right there, I didn't use any toner on it. And the pink circle is the actual platinum that grows in in areas naturally, I didn't use toner on that either. In the photo showing the whole back of my head you can see the difference- that's with the toner but only on what was blonde (not on the roots). It didn't actually do what I had hoped. At all. No harsh smell no burning of the scalp no unpredictable toning…it does work fast, however!
